Angry Bird wrote:Update... for a while I thought I'd been noticing some play up front, now I'm certain of it and I'm fairly sure it's the slackset, not at all suprising given on-one installed it incorrectly in the first place and certainly not the first I've heard about causing problems when installed incorrectly. Decided I can't be arsed with it anymore, so it's going. Will be ordering the appropriate hope cups for it as soon as the next student loan arrives. Shame but oh well, not been too keen on it anyway what with the 170mm forks too, will hopefully ride slightly nicer with the steeper head angle.
How was the Slackset incorrectly installed I have been thinking of getting one and want to avoid fecking it up. Nice looking bike you dont see enough raw frames.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
The cups have to be installed in a specific allignment, one of my cups was installed correctly, the other was 180 degrees out from where it should have been. Was quite annoyed as it was on-one themselves who fitted it incorrectly.
They were supposed to be giving me credit as means of reimbursment for the cost of the fitting in the first place which hasn't happened as far as I'm aware and I've got a knackered headset but meh. C'est la vie.0 -

Theyre not difficult to fit, but require a bit of patience and thought to get it done right.
My LBS fecked mine up twice - even after I told them probably 20 times that it was an angleset and needed to be pin point accurate.
1st time I spotted it wasnt straight and took it back asap without riding it.
2nd time it was only slightly out and I only noticed when the bearings got crushed/collpsed.
Never used the LBS again.
Luckily Works Components were amazing about the whole thing and sorted me out with a replacement.
Fitted it myself and had zero problems since.0 -

Can I ask what size EG you both ride? I'm 5 10 and thinking of going for a medium. Your builds look amazing but I'd be ordering the full bike with pikes etc for £1500. This seems like a good deal to me. Any reason you'd disagree? Problems with On One etc?0

I know its not a EG, but I had my newest frame from on one and they are great.. ordered it online and with a quick reply I picked it up direct from them the day after with no problems. Just so you know mate thats all0 -
hi mate im 5`10" -5`11" my EG is a large and fits perfect, think a medium would be cramp
fitted with Fox 2013 160mm Talas CTD Fit...........amazing ride by the way0 -
Cheers for the reply. Did you try one for size before you bought it? I'll have to order without seeing it I think.0

I'm 5'11"-6" and went for a medium, went up to the planet X before I bought it to check them out and get a feel for size, as it is I've been happy with it and don't find it cramped when climbing. Then again, I've got a relatively short body and quite long legs.
Currently trying to persuade myself not to get rid of it0 -
was out on mine today and size wise all was good................thinking of what to build next...........will never sell this tho as it is the most fun ive had on a bike for ages...........my friend has a santa cruz bronson costing him over 4000

Cracking deal for £1,500. 29'er put's me off, would've been ideal in 26'er for a re-frame.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there
