Can't believe I am saying it, yes WORK for me in the morning, up at 7am, in for 8:20am, although I'm supposed to be in at 8:45am but going to get there early in case I get lost or something.

I'm sheeting it, have no idea really what to expect.

I'm all moved in, in Fallowfield, the house is nice and I intent on staying there, which means I MUST keep this job, I am sheeting it.

Keep your head down. Don't panic, and do what you're told.
  • Head down, do what you're told, smile, say yes not no. Don't let on that you know that none of them have any more of an idea than you do, and that their only asset is that they've had more practice faking it than you have.

Good man, you'll be fine !

Be confident, be keen (without being a brown nose) and volunteer for stuff. There will always be people who will resent you for putting yourself forward for things, but they won't be there long.

Muck in and get on with it. Good luck !!!

When you're sent down to the stores for a "long weight", take a book to read.

Take your own mug for tea & coffee. People get it right on 'em if you use a mug that's theirs.

There'll probably be a load of people showing a mix of surprise and disinterenst that a new starter has pitched up, and you'll have time to get used to your new environment. A bloke I used to work with claimed that beetling off for a dump in the works bog was the best way to become comfortable in a new job.

Now thats a first day to be proud of - wonder if they used his own bicycle clips as 'cuffs?

Or was it punishment for turning up smelling of sweat and traffic on a ropey bicycle on his first day?

Definitely not punishment, just a bit of fun and games. Although he may now have an ar*e like a ripped out fire place !

Oooh - that sounds painful. Need more than a bit of TCP to sort that one out.

But where is he? His bath in front of the fire must be getting cold by now. And he's still got to wash his bike in it.

No, it would be genius - anyone speaking to Will would suddenly feel that they have no problems in life and would hang up the phone and go off whistling and skipping down the road.

Of course, saying yes not no would depend on the question, correct?

Do you want an enema? Not sure I'd answer YES to that to be honest... ;-)

Good luck with the job though, willhub :-)

I reckon he's been abducted to a Moss Side crack den where a bunch of Albanians are using him as a sex toy so they can sell him out as a rent boy.

I also saw him on F/B a few days ago offering to go up the cat and fiddle with Bhima, either way he's going to end up with one worn ring .

(His biggun if he's with the albanians and his granny if he's with Bhima)

Work is ok, pretty slow and straight forward until today, we had to learn about various bank accounts, mortgages, insurance and credit cards, then do a mock test, I managed 56 out of 60 points for that.

Learning the system from next week, and the final test has a pass rate of 80% and to keep job must pass it.

I get up at 7am, cycle only 4 miles at 7:30am, park my bike, get changed, walk from Northern Q to Spinningfields, some days I go riding after, so not back in untill 9-10pm, struggle to stay awake, but managing.

Welcome!
