New Turbo Trainer- scratched roller

Decided that with a combination of rubbish weather and work/family commitments I was ont getting out on my bike enough so I've invested in a CycleOps Fluid 2 trainer to use when I'm unable to get out.

Just unpacking and assembling: I've noticed that the polished roller has some surface scratches. Not huge, but can be felt with my nail. On any other part I wouldn't be overly concerned but I'm aware that there is some heavy loading on this area and wondered if it could cause a problem with tyre wear.

I'm sure I'm being paranoid but as its brand new I'm sure I could exchange it but as it was bought mail order it's not as easy as walking into a shop. If its unlikely to be a problem I'm happy to keep it and avoid the hassle.

What do we think?

Reckon the tyre will wear them smooth quite soon anyway.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. Let's hope I can spin it fast enough to polish it smooth!

I doubt they would cause too much of a problem, but a going over with a Cape Cod cloth would ensure there aren't any rough edges to them as an extra peace of mind.
