New Turbo Trainer- scratched roller

Decided that with a combination of rubbish weather and work/family commitments I was ont getting out on my bike enough so I've invested in a CycleOps Fluid 2 trainer to use when I'm unable to get out.
Just unpacking and assembling: I've noticed that the polished roller has some surface scratches. Not huge, but can be felt with my nail. On any other part I wouldn't be overly concerned but I'm aware that there is some heavy loading on this area and wondered if it could cause a problem with tyre wear.
I'm sure I'm being paranoid but as its brand new I'm sure I could exchange it but as it was bought mail order it's not as easy as walking into a shop. If its unlikely to be a problem I'm happy to keep it and avoid the hassle.
What do we think?

Cool. Thanks for the advice. Let's hope I can spin it fast enough to polish it smooth!0

I doubt they would cause too much of a problem, but a going over with a Cape Cod cloth would ensure there aren't any rough edges to them as an extra peace of mind.0
