tight at the back of the knees

Recently I have developed a tightness in the back of both knees. I wouldn’t call it painful but it is noticeable and uncomfortable. It feels like either a tight muscle or tendon.
It isn’t that bad when actually riding but it is worse after, especially the next day even when just walking. I have had a bike fit recently though this started before. Usually you would think that a problem in this area is from having a saddle set to high but I am certain this is not the problem, in fact my saddle was too low, way too low.
I am wondering because my saddle has moved up and further back if it is simply a muscle or tendon that isn’t used to be extended so much, though I have lowered the saddle down to see if it made any difference and it didn’t.
I am more comfortable on the bike overall and stretching most days so hopefully this will just fade away but it would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had a similar problem.
