    I've got an Edge 500 and a 305 before that. Too be honest it's been all I've ever needed. But I may look to upgrade to the 510. Upgrading from the 500 to 510 seems a bigger jump than a 800 to 810. But I'll keep an eye out if there are any deals on 800 as they try to get rid of old stock.

    I almost want one... and if I dither enough, as I usually do, I'll end up having no choice cos all the 800s will have sold out.

    For some one that has a 500 & has been toying with the idea of the 800 for a while( me) - the 810 seems like a good move.

    Or get a great deal on an 800......

    i was going to get an 800, with the full os mapping, and it seems that i may as well stick with that as the extra price for the 810 seems a bit pointless considering the seemingly limited and not very appealing (no new screen res or link to strava) 'improvements' in the 810.

    from peoples experience will retailers start discounting the 800 at all in light of the release of the 810?

    They already are and were before Christmas - you can wait for those who sell their old 800's but for me taking into account I got a new battery buying new makes sense if you can get a good price.
