the right hand shifter has a problem, the 'cam' which pulls the brake cable in the lever has not been drilled out and is blank, therefore I can't fit a brake cable to the right hand shifter which means I can't fit the unit....I have the older style force shifter which is broken and have tried to remove the cam on that one but its near impossible to get out, SOUTHWALESROADIE said he would send me a replacement lever assembly so that I could swap them over, that was last Saturday and he said he would post out on Monday, I emailed him Monday night to check it had been sent and had no reply, I emailed again on Tuesday night and again no reply at that point I emailed him and told him If i didn't hear back by Wednesday i'll post on this thread, I had an email back on Wednesday night telling me how busy he was (slightly aggressive email about how busy he was) and that he would try and post out tomorrow (Thursday) and nothings arrived yet, was going to wait until after the bank holiday and give him the benefit of the doubt, I did email him back after the last time and explained that he should just be honest if he's having problems getting the lever sent before the weekend then fine just let me know, my concern is that he will just disappear along with my cash and i'm left with a pair of shifters I cant fit and my pocket is light by 175 notes .... not ideal, i'll never spend more than 50 notes on here without collecting !!

Madness. Are the shifters new then? I can imagine its a pain trying to swap the cams over! Give SWR the benefit of the doubt, he works mental hours I think, and what with the bank holiday and that.

they don't look new and he told me they had been on a track bike, although I can't quite figure that out, what with track bikes not having gears or brakes ??!! either way I don't actually mind if he's taking a bit of time because he's busy and has stuff going on which has a greater priority, i'm in the same boat myself busy with family life and work and as such I don't have time to keep chasing him every day and it gets a bit boring, on top of this fitting training into my work and family life is hard enough without having the worry of potentially having to source a part and pay for it which means i'm out of pocket and off the bike for god know how long !!, however i'm willing to be wait just as long as he makes an effort to communicate with me to tell me what's going on, i've given him my mobile number numerous times and asked for his just so we can have a proper conversation about it, but still nothing, the thing is i'm a laid back bloke If he would just email/ring me and be honest with me about it I couldn't expect more than that.

Still no contact, no part in the post, no communication from him at all......really stuck now to be honest.....I think i've given the benefit of the doubt its been a nearly a week now since my last email from him......payed through pay pal as a gift so can't get my money back or a proportion of it.....looks like i'll have to buy the part myself and hope I can find somewhere that stocks it so I can get it quickly......feel really hacked off......as i've said before i'll be much more careful in the future.....people of bike radar be super careful who you deal with

Can you not send them back to SWR and ask for your money to be returned? Seems to be an easier option than trying to fix them plus, If they weren't as described then you're within your rights to ask for a refund.

There is no way i'd return them without having a refund first.....on the basis of his current performance do you think I would ever get my money back ?? I have actually emailed him and suggested that he gives me a refund and then I return them....but without any communication it all makes it a little difficult......

I’ll repeat, I’ve not received any lever I also have nothing to gain by lying about it, if I had sent the lever then great it would all of been sorted and I would not be out of pocket, I never received any notification from you that a lever had been sent, no tracking number no date of postage etc etc, no communication from you at all, hence I bought my own lever to make sure I was sorted, remember I paid you in good faith straight away I would have been better off buying another set which would of saved me money in the long run, you caused me grief that I could of done without, you can see why I’m pissed off, I’ll be honest if you really did want to make sure I’m sorted you would give me the £75.00 I spent on the lever, if you do give the money I’ll happily post this message on bike radar and let the good people know that you eventually sorted me out, I’d also like some kind of explanation as to why you ignored all my messages, but if you cannot sort out the refund I’ll respectfully ask you to leave me alone and not contact me again, I’ll just have to chalk this one up to experience.

I'm not intentionally trying to piss you off but politely wind your neck in and think about what I'm saying to you - Why would I make contact with you after all this time, to check that you had been sorted, if I was about to dredge up bad feelings if you were still not sorted? The logical thing for me to do would have been to disappear and stay disappeared.
I don't keep my postal receipts THAT long. I normally find that IF there is a problem, I know about it in a matter of a few days. Having sent you the only spare lever I had, I am also in the position of being a lever 'down'.
May I ask - Do you have the old lever (the one without the hole for the cable?) I don't want to leave you high and dry. That's not the way I work. And contrary to what you may believe, I'm not a scammer or con-man. If you still have the old lever, (so I can send it back and try and get a replacement for my own shifter), I will be happy to refund your £75 that you paid for your replacement lever. This whole situation is very unfortunate and made worse due to me not checking my personal emails often but would the above sound fair and reasonable? I would naturally cover the postage for the lever coming back to me too.

So folks I eventually got the £75.00 back from him, to be honest i'm amazed !!, I had to bite my tongue when he told me to wind my neck back in :twisted: as it really made my piss boil...... the whole process has been a bit of a joke to be honest and has taken months to sort out loads of email and pm's, in all honesty i'm glad i've got my money and its only right that I give him honest factual feedback on here, but I would suggest that everyone should steer clear of this chap as he clearly does not have a clue as to what he's doing, I for one will never send anything more than 50 quid via paypal gift and I will never give anyone the benefit of the doubt again
