Blimey Rick, thats a LOT of cash you are spending there, but fair play if you manage em all! I am having to be quite selective this year, but i am also taking my first cycle trips in Majorca & France. Didn't get a place on the Fred, so will do Etape Du Dales instead.0

I've enterred:
Tour of Flanders
Richmond 5 dales (my third time, its shocking that this great event doesn't fill up every year. Stunning route in the dales, great HQ, hot food, good feedstops and only £15. "Only £15" is possibly the problem)
Also looking at white rose classic (£30) and the ryedale rumble if its back on (about £25 I think).
Ive also booked the raid pyrenean in early June with Pyrenees cycling."Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -
aint paying to ride my bike !!0

Well good for you. Excellent contribution to this thread.0

most welcome, cannot justify spending money i aint got on something that can be done fro nowt- i have no helmet either, so according to the 'organisers' of such events you are excluded from getting any support--they are mostly on public roads, so if i choose to ride along then so be it.... have fun ..0

I've also applied for charity place - haven't heard yet. But if you're given a charity place is your name removed from the Ballot? I'd rather get in through the ballot and let someone else have my charity place.0 -
The arrangement that I have with my chosen charity is one where I give them back my charity place if I win a place via the ballot, however I would still have my place on the team and there is no minimum sponsorship.0

If there are any spare places after the initial wave of charity applications, it has also been agreed that I shall notify other Audax/sportive riders of these via this forum.0 -

Just Flanders. I envy those with the time (and presumably fewer family commitments) to have a big long list!kop van de wedstrijd0

But blim to train for Flanders aren't you going to be out spending time riding your bike anyway? Personally I can't stand being stuck indoors on the turbo, so do spinning classes in the week, and find that a lot of UK sportives are a great way to get in a good long training ride at the weekend on a signposted route through new countryside with some support in order to build up for a more challenging event, such as a Fred Whitton or a Dragon Ride. So I am doing some 12 or so sportives this year as part of my training for Paris-Roubaix in April and then the Etape in July.0

I don't cycle often enough (who does?) and therefore look on any sportive as an event to aim for in itself rather than as training for a further event, but i take your point.kop van de wedstrijd0 -

Booked for the Tour of Wessex, only the 213 mile over 3 day (25 - 27 May - Medium Tour)
As for back home in Cornwall I'll hopefully be doing:
14 Apr - Audax A Cornish 100 (103km)
21 Apr - Coasting in Cornwall (96km)
19 May - Audax Lizard Loop (103km)
7 Jul - Audax Mines and Mineral Railways On-road (69km)
21 Jul - Bodmin Moor 100 (147km)
11 Aug - Audax The Celtic Coastal (104km)
8 Sept - Audax Golowjy ha Bal (116km)
6 Oct - Lands End 100 (Maybe the 160km if I feel like it)
Fingers croosed I should be able to do all of these, providing the Cornish summer isn't a washout. Just a shame the Festival of Sport was cancelled, I was looking forward to that one as I missed doing it last year due to fitness.Scott S40 Speedster

Two definites for me, plus probably a couple of others.
Definites:
Kendal Sportive (Wheelbase Spring Classic) March 24th - already booked.
Jennings Rivers Ride September 15th - Brilliant last year, despite being in the pouring rain.
Possibly Le Terrier, Tour de Staveley and Ride with Brad. Just spotted the Dentdale Beauty & the Beast too - sounds a challenge.
Being a bit of a newcomer and unfit, I'm not doing the full-length rides. For the Jennings, its because I'll be taking my daughter on the family ride as well (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it) and there isn't enough time. In fact, we're off to the launch event in Cockermouth this Sunday. A ten-mile family ride, hopefully the predicted snow will have been & gone.
Also planning a ride from Kendal to Saltaire at some point.0 -

Dragon Ride
Ride100 (if I get a place)
Reigate Sunday Sportive
Paris Roubaix Challenge
May also do a Surrey Hills Evans or Wiggle one if I get the time0
