Lake land loop - great for early fitness testing.
Etape du dales - After 6 years in row doing the Fred want to try my hand at this one. Done all the climbs though!
Bowland Badass missed this one last year due to family hols and want to give it a go.
One in the Peak District - havent decided yet.
Ride with Brad - fancy this one.
Glen Coe sportive or whatever its called
A few more scottish ones including Ullapool and perhaps a few more northern sportives.

I do a sportive route or mash up of several routes of over 100miles every week on my own if not participating in one.

I loved the Dentdale Beauty and the Beast last year, what a cracking day we had, I'm praying for a similar day, especially now I have sun cream that won't sweat off!

    Signed up for so far:
    Kendal Sportive
    Evans Leeds Ride-it

    More will follow I'm sure.

    Hi Pollys
Both good events, worth doing. The organisers are coming from a triathlon background so attract a contingent riding with tribars, and there are facilities to go for a run afterwards (not really my idea of fun!); but generally the arrangements were fine, all pretty low key which I liked. The countryside was a revelation as I come from London and normally ride sportives in crowded Surrey, Sussex and Kent. You'll probably know the great open vistas and empty roads but it can get very windy, especially if you end up in a long drag on your own. On the Quattro some local jokers turned round a key sign near the start sending a big group on some 15 miles diversion added to the long route, but not the organisers fault. On the Spires & Squires the weather was truly atrocious - very wet, blowing a gale and cold - so they shortened the route, again not the organisers' fault; I'd definitely do it again on a clear day.
    Happy pedalling!

What sort of prices are they in general this year, has anyone noticed any big increases? A couple of new ones have appeared near me, an area with very few to begin with, and cost £40...seems a little high :?
  • Plotting a route from Glasgow back to Lancaster in one day. Probably head South through the quiet countryside, keep right past Carlisle and a route to Lancaster. 250+ plus miles.
Going to make this years route a bit harder than last years Coast to Coast to Coast in the day (260 miles).
Where's your adventure guys? Got sheep syndrome? :D

I'd say £40 is above the going rate, unless it includes a hot meal at the finish or a 'free' T-shirt.
