This is the annual problem the male of the species unfortunately goes through.

    How about a new bike?

Luckily for me my girlfriend has lost one of her favourite earings so it was an easy choice for me!

If she's getting big and possibly f**ked off, then I'd go jewellry or seriously high-end smellies.

Well, if it's your first baby then it's a nice tradition to give an eternity ring....

And if it's jewellry then Georg Jensen, Tiffany, Links do nice stuff that's not too expensive.

And if she loves you (which she must do!) then she'll be happy that you've just gone out and bought her something nice :-)

Thanks. i'm just off out for an hour or so to do mine and was in the same position as gtv. That'll do for her, if I can find a pair in silver.

    Mrs A wants a handbag.

Actually Mrs A wants the handbag. She's wanted the handbag for two years now she just hasn't been able to find it. That's two birthdays and coming up to three Xmas' without me actually getting her a gift that is anything more than a token present.

She took a passing interest in a Mulberry bag in Bentalls the other day, but the clasp was too shiny. Or something.

Good call - as my wife tells me, shoes and handbags don't make you feel fat (although the shoes part doesn't necessarily apply during pregnancy)...

Deep down though I suspect this is all a bluff, and you are in fact some top scouse laywer who went to Bluecoats and then Durham, with a model-style girlfriend and a house in Formby...

Did you get those from the stereotypical women's presents shop? All she'd need now is a pair of marigolds, a kitchen apron and one of those tacky teddy bears from Clinton's because you're "being romantic".
