turbo training

im a novice cyclist, i ride for leisure and fitness , im of average fitness ( ride about 50 miles on the road no real problem ) , i recently purchased a turbo trainer to which i have added a cateye computer ( speed , milage ) , however can someone give me an idea as to what a decent training program should be , as i havent a clue and i just pedal away as fast as i can for as long as i can, is this ok or should i be looking at more controlled sessions for fitness and weight loss..............thanks
