This thread is useless without pics of the de-stickered Elites

Starting a trend on de-stickering Elites

What made you switch to Campag?

I really liked it when I had 10sp on my colnago. I really REALLY like it now! Love the feel of the gear change and the aesthetic. The new hoods are mega comfy too...

    New wheels...

    Courtesy of http://www.wheelsmith.co.uk

Front I already had (IRD road rim, cx ray spokes and extralite front hub, 599g) just added a 32h IRD road rear w/ cx rays and Campag Record hub, 835g. About to take them on their maiden voyage seeing as the weather is nice today...
Also my first ride since my new fit at http://www.pedalprecision.com

Just got back from their maiden voyage.

2 hrs of battering myself on the flats, full gas up the hills and some fast descents.

    Absolutely superb.

Feel as smooth as DA 24s but as stiff as Ksyrium elites.
More aero than the ksyriums for sure ( not hard) and as light as SLs.
More than that, they are fully serviceable!

    Bloody love them!

Great looking bike and the wheels are lovely.

Did you get any flex when giving it some? Also what brake pads are you using?

Any particular reason for going to PP, as opposed to returning back to Adrian Timmis for a fit?

It explains it on my blog...

Price, location and a look at dealing with the root causes of my issues rather than dealing with the results of them.

I no longer have shims, just the in shoe tilt wedge.

The big missing thing with PP are the footbeds but I have them already.

Still rate Ada as highly. Just a different way of going about it.

    Good man :)

It's dead easy, take the tyres off, heat the stickers with a hair dryer as you peel :)

Got some carbon tubs. Wheelsmith built, gigantex rims, cx ray spokes and pmp hubs. The hubs makem pretty heavy for 50mm tubs but are very reliable and easily serviceable. These wheels are very stiff and bloody fast! Picked them up from the classifieds on here.

Looks great with the new hoops- really like the mainly black stealth-esque look with the red accent throughout, including aliante- good effort!

Looking at some of your other bike threads though I'm not surprised :D

Got to say I'm shocked how fast they are. Also how stiff. The hubs are heavy but the rims are light, I caned it up a few short sharp inclines today and they fly! Did I say how stiff they were?

Well chuffed! Not too bad over the rough stuff too, not as smooth as the low pros obviously but not bad at all.

Edit: I've used Zipp 808/404, Campag Bora Ultra 2s and Planet X before. These are easily on a par with the best.
