SW London / Surrey drinks

Anyone fancy a beer? I see the SE London boys are going drinking. I know quite a few are in this neck of the woods and it has been mentioned that riding back from town with a few in the tank can be a bit hairy. So, how about a drink out here? Kingston or Richmond, possibly even the Sussex Arms in Twickenham. The Roebuck in Richmond might make sense, most know where it is, lots of railings and I can ride home through the park when pie-eyed.

Would love to but needs to have a train link; I don't drink and ride.

Well, I do but I crash as KevEss will tell you.

OK. What's the pub by Sigma Sports like? Hampton Wick station just up the road and we could lick Sigma's window after a few beers.

sadly I work shifts and at the moment a lot of them! some paid some unpaid as is life.

I'm up for it, although pressed for time now. Not so keen on going too far west (eg Twickenham), but anywhere from Putney to Richmond sounds fine.

Would Hampton Wick work for you? Roger can fall home through the park, Asprilla can jump on the train and I can stagger back through Kingston. Anybody else?
I'm still going to the Morpeth on the 21st. I'll be there for about 7ish.

I'll be in a cab from Hampton Wick. From there to Walton requires changing trains and that's always risky when bladdered.

Times getting tight now. I can't do Wednesday or Friday next week. How do people feel about drinking on a school night? I'd rather have a hang over at work than at home. Got one now in fact. How about Tuesday the 18th?

Other dates are available. I just thought I'd throw one in the mix. What about early January avoid the new year blues drinks?

May as well change it to the Roebuck if you're going to be cabbing it anyway, more accessible to most and 10-15 mins walk from Richmond station, which is on lines to lots of places.

Any of Richmond, Kingston, Hampton, Norbiton, Putney or Putney work well for me. All are close to home, so I'll go along with the crowd.

Dates-wise, next Weds-Fri are good. So far. I think.*

*Liable to very short notice cancellation due to Act of God i.e. Mrs CJ.

Edit: Putney seems to work twice as well as the other options for some reason...

Putney works for me too. Tuesday 18th is the only day I can't do next week.

The Spencer in Putney is trackside and does Doombar and Pride, if that helps.

Edit: But it's probably not too convenient for our one-armed, brakeless road warrior...

You had me at Doom Bar.

Well, I say that but somewhere closer to East Putney would be better for public transport.

    THE SUN!!!

Excellent choice. Let's go there. Done. See you there.

I was all set to dismiss Putney for entirely selfish reasons. But like Asprilla the temptation of Doombar has swayed me and I can get the 85 bus. Are Keyser, NSB and any other Richmondites game?
I reckon we could go for next Wednesday. I could go for early drinks in Putney then carry on for my usual Wednesday drinks in my local pre-oiled.

Bloody hell, I've only just worked out how to get to Putney. Where is this Barnes place? Back to the tfl website.

I'm easy tbh, Putney/Barnes/Richmond would be really convenient for me. Twickenham, Hampton Wick less so.

The Sun is a lovely pub. Office party on weds, so whilst I could manage Putney, Barnes would be a stretch sans bike.

I was just about to take the plunge and fix it as Wednesday. I'll do a review of who and when and see which looks favourite. I might make a poll.
Anybody else game? JG, WR, any Gregs, DDD, London Red, loadsmore.

I know he doesn't. I was just hoping he'd come out to play and we could all have a group hug, or not.
I like the chatbot thing, made me chuckle. You coming out this way for a drink or see you in the Morpeth?
