Saw this today parked outside the train station in Inverness:
So, what are the funniest/weirdest bike setups you've seen?

Anyone got a pic of David Millars bike? Saw it not long ago he has a huge stem and his saddle rails filed down so he can push it back further0

Ah yes on of those Cervelos that fit 90% of riders with their stock sizes...........................
apart form David Millar and Ryder Hesjedal (see below will silly long, slamed and low angle stem coupled with in line post clamped to very back of rails)
Coach H. (Dont ask me for training advice - 'It's not about the bike')0 -

There is nothing odd about this bike... it is very elegant... shame the pave' tires are in different colours, the front one is very hard to find with tan wallsleft the forum March 20230 -

Here it is with new tyres (and calipers). Sorry about the RUBBISH photo - it's chucking it down with rain, snow and everything else outside so it had to be done in the garage

I like how the top section of the bars is taped to the lower bit. Yeah, I'm sure that will be strong enough! Not sure how to change gear from the tops though, needs more cables!0 -

Why did you ruin the simplicity and elegance with all that clutter?
That was a gentleman's bike... now it is a commuting Frankenstein

That saddle's creeping forward too.0

Do you mean the rear mech? Looks like an old Ultegra one to me.

Delusion... I was hoping it was one of these

I do like shiny bits on bikes. Find the current crop of groupsets rather depressing...0

Correct. It's a 7-speed 600 Ultegra one.
Saddle is that far forward because of my stupid body proportions.
'Commuting' kit isn't really there. Saddle bag is to empty my jersey pockets, light is so I don't die, and pump is incase I get a puncture. FYI I don't actually commute

You could fit a smaller pump and everything else you need in a rear pocket... including a red light with a clip... you SHOULD remove those two ugly bottle holders and fit one only and metal made. Computer clamp, what do you need a computer for? Don't you have a brain? The saddle bag is unnecessarily massive...
It is a beautiful bicycle... I really think it is class as it in the photo above.
Finally you should restore tan walled tyres, although consider yourself exempt for the winter months... but come March, these ugly tyres go... I mean it!left the forum March 20230 -

I understand completely, but it's just not practical to make it look nice. The computer mount is actually for my phone (Strava - please don't murder me...), the bottle holders are there on those STUPID mounts because the bike doesn't have any built-in bottle cage mounts.
The saddle bag is to carry necessary stuff. If I put everything in my jersey pockets, it is just awkward and in addition to making me heavier (harder to stand up when climbing) it all sways from side to side.

I love this bike, it looks great although I have to agree with ugo.santalucia - it looks much better like this than with the two bidon cages, bell, pump and saddlebag. All those random bits have spoiled its elegant smooth lines.0
