SufferFest to iPad via iTunes

I've been banging my head against a brick wall all weekend with not being able to get a SufferFest movie (Angels) onto my iPad. The support at SufferFest was unable to resolve my issue. Anyway, I've just fixed it, so thought I'd share in case anyone else encounters the same problem.
Basically I couldn't get the SufferFest mpeg-4 into iTunes. This step is required to sync the movie with the iPad. I tried "add to library" within iTunes, drag & drop, right-click from Explorer, but all to no avail.
The forums would have me believe that I needed to convert the SufferFest movie into a format that iTunes would recognise. So I downloaded conversion software and waited 7 hours (!) for the movie to convert. Still no joy.
Anyway the solution was easy if obscure. My version of QuickTime wasn't up to date. Why the hell there's a dependency between QT version and importing to iTunes is beyond me.
Unfortunately I've now one less excuse for not using the rollers when the weather deteriorates further.

I guess you've probably sorted this by now but fwiw I use http://www.airplayit.com/
Free app - streams Sufferfest vids to my iPad without the need to actually put it on the device & clog it up!
Hope it helps.0
