The ugliest bike ever was the Whyte "Preston" (PRST-1)...and it's just a fact that it's the ugliest bike ever.
I just made the mistake of looking that up on Google images. I wish I hadn't

it's all very well being an exF1 suspension designer - but no-one had to look at - except if it was crashed and upside down!
This ticks all the boxes for offending my sensibilities, as an ex-engineer, and as a cyclist it's just plain fugly

As an engineer, it shouldn;t offend your engineering sensibilities - it really worked very well.
      Aesthetically though. Erhmagherd, it'd disgusting!

I'd imagine it would ride like a bag of spanners, though

oooh yeah, that would be bad! I wonder how much worse it would be than the bushes going in a set of "normal" forks?

I don't know how well they lasted, but I have an older, Whyte designed Marin full suss, and it's still solid, with no play. So these old preston praying mantii might be fine. I wonder if we can ever find someone willing to admit to owning one that can tell us?

And those aren't my pants in the picture, it's a skiier sliding backwards into shot!

See, as much fun as it is to make fun of Orange bikes, I have to admit, I don't see anything wrong with the 5 in terms of aesthetics (from afar).
      It's pretty much standard bike-shape.

Its a bit agricultural looking, but it's not BAD looking.

I disagree, if it were early 90's then ok, but were not.
its not just the 5 though, the Commi's with their single rear arm is just as ugly IMHO

Why is a single rear arm linked in any way with the 90s?

Really don't like these things - though apparently they ride really well. Still, they make Nick's Tank look nice.

Either end of it individually would be ugly, so it's kind of masterful that they've combined two different type of ugly into a single, greater ugly.

There's one at glentress quite often, magic thing. Yes it's ugly but in a cool way. Always looks like it's about to eat someone else's bike.

There's no need for this thread. The ugliest bike ever was the Whyte "Preston" (PRST-1).
It worked, it was apparently great to ride, but it was gopping, and it's just a fact that it's the ugliest bike ever.
Difficult to say whether they've put the saddle/bars on the wrong way round
Tis fugly as sin. And not ugly in any kind of cool way at all.
Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.
