No more prologues in TdF?

  • Let's have the prologue on the Friday night.

That would be fun, but somebody would probably decide it's too dangerous to ride a bike in the dark and get it neutralised.

A neutralised prologue could be fun!

200 riders all doing coming off a start ramp and doing trackstands.

    Trackstands ON the ramp... :)

Didn't the Vuelta have a 3-man team time trial as a prologue in the early 90's?

edit: 1991. Just looked it up.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

TdF shouldn't be for the casual fan. This is all wrong, it's not there to be enjoyed. You supposed to suffer the Tour, not enjoy it! Stage one should be a 80km pan flat time trial!

You might as well just forget the remaining 20 days and give Wiggins the trophy straight away then

surely half the reason the prologue gets poorer viewing figures is that it's a Saturday and maybe the casual fan has other things to do at the weekend. Are there any figures to back up what the ASO are saying ?

A saturday in the middle of the holidays couldn't be a better time to air.
