Heartburn after evening training

I've been doing 3-4 turbo sessions during the dark evenings in the garage and after a session I've been getting really bad heartburn which lasts into the next morning.
Thinking it was the position on the turbo I strapped the lights on and took the bike out last night for a brisk 30 miles and had exactly the same thing.
Not had it before until now.
Nothing in my diet has changed. I've tried eating a small snack before training and even having my evening meal before and still the same
Any Ideas ??

Why would your position on the turbo be any different to out on the road?
Have you tried changing the timing of your meals / snacks?CAPTAIN BUCKFAST'S CYCLING TIPS - GUARANTEED TO WORK! 1 OUT OF 10 RACING CYCLISTS AGREE!0 -
Would recommend getting a checkup from Doc, a tablet may solve.
Over time neglecting heartburn can damage the oesophagus.

First two times I used the turbo I didn't raise the front wheel so with the rear wheel being higher I was being pushed lower at the front.
I've tried eating nothing after lunch at 1pm before the turbo and also tried eating before. Both with the same results0 -
Check with Doc - just incase in isnt heartburn adn if it is you can get over the counter help or prescription. Don't suffer in silence whatever....0

What is it you're eating? Even if your diet hasn't changed, the things that you're eating pre-training could be causing the problem.CAPTAIN BUCKFAST'S CYCLING TIPS - GUARANTEED TO WORK! 1 OUT OF 10 RACING CYCLISTS AGREE!0

Do you get this any other time? Is it just after exertion or do you get it if you bend over or just lying in bed?
Have you taken anything to treat it? Like gaviscon/rennies whatever?
If that works then it's probably just heartburn and you can get on and figure out which foods are causing the problem for a while, then get to GP if no progress.
If antacids don't help then a trip to the GP may be more urgent. If you haven't got a headwind you're not trying hard enough0 -
I have a hiatus hernia and if I spend too long bending down / leaning forwards I find I get really bad acid reflux. Normally controlled by a daily PPI pill, but if it gets upset, can take a few days to settle down.
See your GP, he may refer you for gastroscopy. As mentioned, don't leave it untreated; damage to the oesophagus could occur.0 -
Cheers for the replies.
I don't get it at any other times on or off the bike.
I can quite happily go out for 3-4 hours in the morning and have no signs of it whatsoever.
It's only in the evening. Either with or without eating since lunchtime.
My lunch usually consists of a wholemeal sandwich with a cereal bar and a banana & apple, and maybe a couple of cups of tea during the afternoon.
When the "heartburn" comes on then Rennie's do help but I have to go through 5-6 of them.0
