Anyone else get the impression people are playing barista oneupmanship?
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

It's not quite that simple. Not all Americans act like dicks.

*That order could only come from dicks imo.

Lol she's not a d!ck. That's what was fun about it.

It was just bold and utterly confident. It was all nicely done.

    That's why I added "imo".
Imo acting like a dick makes you a dick. Dicks can be nice people too.

Seems perfectly sensible to me to upgrade a one ingredient drink. I'd swap out the coffee ingredient as well.

More than one thing in a cup is fine. But it's three flavours that don't complement one another.

I think it's generally a sign that you don't really like one of the elements but it is seen as the fashionable thing to have so you have to mask it.

Bit of an odd one but I'm working out my notice period at the moment and going through th 80,000 plus emails in my folders deleting or filing as required. Quite theraputic although I'm not sure the remaining 2 or 3 months is going to be sufficient!

Why do you have 80,000 in the first place? To cover your back?

I like to get shot of them quick, I hate a massive inbox.

No good at filing them in the correct job folder and find it easier to run a search on the inbox.

    Glad it’s not just me.
Filing is a no value add task in the days of search.
    Is what I tell myself.

I make a point of not living and dying by email though. It’s a useful transfer of information but not a tool by which others can delegate work to me.

There's a retro look on BBC iPlayer, Glastonbury 50 years and counting, well worth a watch. I've never been on site, not that sort of person, but the number of times I went 'oh yeah I remember'...

Though I admire your commitment you do realise, the IT department will probably just delete your account, no one cares or appreciates your unnecessary work, they won’t pay you extra. As you get to the last month everyone will already be ignoring everything you do as they have to adjust to you not being there. You’ll be like some strange still there but ex employee, blocked from all the juicy gossip, wondering why you spent the last x amount of years trying so hard!

When (years back, still on the corporate hamster wheel) I was working out my notice period, less my holiday days entitlement, I remember fondly replying to a colleague with "nah man, I don't do meetings any more".

I am very jealous, went for 12 years from the late 90s and it rained pretty much every year.

I preferred going the other way. Company paid off a few contractors with no notice for being awkward* with the justification that their contracts were simply not being renewed and they had lapsed.
Mine was lapsing too and I had a better contract on the table so.... told them no renewal and bye. It was quite funny at the time with the shock of the tables being turned and made even better by the offers to return later. No thanks.

*Awkward being suggesting that the project could be managed better and pointing out all the flaws. Some consultants would charge extra for that level of service.

When my last company dispensed with me it was an act of kindness. Allowed me to effectively retire early yet be in the same financial position. The sense of relief was immense. I too fondly remember deleting tons of stuff nobody was ever going to read / use; felt kind of cathartic.

New place didn't have wheelie bins for recycling, general waste etc, previous owner just used bags. Put in an online request yesterday afternoon; 0930 this morning bloke in a van rolls up with the bins. Wasn't expecting that service level.
