Hi all,
Just wondering if anybody want's to go out tonight for a ride (no idea where, before 6ish?) or is there a group I can join in for a one off. Family is out= extra riding time! Decent pace, max/around 50miles please!

Can't do tonight but otherwise don't mind joining others for a ride but where are you? London? What does "decent pace" mean?Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

I can do the 7th at 7. My pace is extra-average.
I'd like to join in with a group no bigger than a good size. Would like to cover approximately 18000 rods.Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0 -
I'm up for it! Meet you outside the Greenhouse pub in Cwmbran?FCN 5 belt driven fixie for city bits
CAADX 105 beastie for bumpy bits
Litespeed L3 for Strava bits
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.0 -
All right, sorry...
So from central London to anywhere, would think to do about 2-3hrs ride with an average of 25km/h (you all all right about it, it's decent for me).
Any takers?
Any questions?

Or even worse: your bike and your body!
I'll take them and break them all...

Shouldn't you be out riding by now?
Or did you mean start before 6 not finish?- Genesis Croix de Fer

Dulwich paragon chaingang meet at Skoda garage by elmers end roundabout at 7.15 for a 30 mile ride finishing at crystal palace - bit late for you perhaps?0
-
I meant start around 6-ish. I work till 5pm, then get changed and can be pretty much anywhere central london in 30 mins. I don't have a chance to go out usually but the kids are out, I'm on my own and would like to go somewhere.
I'm currently at Canary Wharf.0 -

I wouldn't have thought they'd mind - often have riders from other clubs joining. Its the marginally slower ride on a Wednesday and generally a bit more relaxed than Tue / Thurs. Not out myself as was out last night.0 -
Will hub is apparently.
Sorry. Just cross threading for fun.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
Thanks for Dulwich paragons, I had a great time, nice bunch of people!0

I did the chaingang ride once, think it was one of the easier evenings rather than the hardcore ones... It wasn't that difficult to keep up but they tend not to stop and wait if you drop off the back, or at least they didn't when I went. The main problem for me is that they meet at Elmers End at 7pm which is very hard to get to in time, I have to leave work at 6, get home on my commuting bike, drop off my bag and cr@p, change, get the good bike out of the shed and get down to EE...Do not write below this line. I think you'd find it tough to keep up with a chaingang on a fixie....Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -

Or plan ahead and ride your good bike to work? Leaving any of your essential 'cr@p' at work so you don't have to carry it.0 -
I need to join this Paragon thing. DHope, any change of being broken in gently? What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?0

Reminds me, what happened to you the other night, was hanging on for dear life for most of embankment then you dropped away, mechanical?0 -

I think he'd struggle on a fixie. There is a mile long descent to a roundabout and then back up the way you came down. Not sure what gearing could enable you to not get seriously dropped in those circumstances.0 -
anyone strava'd the wed chain gang? Downhill could be an issue...0
