I'm investigating IP's Pearson as recycling is nice and stuff.- Genesis Croix de Fer

My insurance has just come through for my broken Cotic RoadRat...
I've just brought an On One Pompetamine, hopefully be building it back up on the weekend.
Not massively keen on the colours, but they get good reviews, and at £99 can't really go wrong0 -
What colour did you get? I would have gone for blue.- Genesis Croix de Fer

Keep an eye on the Dedacciai Pista; its on pricedrop - so is falling all the time...."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

Back to an earlier point, I run XT V-Brakes on my Pompino with Cane Creek V-Brake levers.
No squishiness, no vagueness, just ridiculously powerful brakes.0 -

I guess I always read it as Ded achi but that is clearly wrong.
Barry - interesting you run yours ok with V brakes. Are you using flat bars or drops?- Genesis Croix de Fer

After a quick bit of Googling, it appears the correct pronunciation is along the lines of "Ded-atch-eye", go ahead and buy one, then you can correct them when they get it wrong.0 -

Drops.

No actual close ups of the brake set up but the levers are these:

I should add though, that there is nothing wrong with good canti brakes.0

aren't you tempted to spray those guards green??FCN = 40

Maybe once upon a time, but the green chain was a disastrous purchase, so with the current functional but dull chain, years of filth build up and the white tape looking grey, almost black, that time has passed!0

Slack chain, just saying  :twisted:Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.0 -

Quick update: I purchased Il Principe's Pearson Touché last night! Doesn't need much doing to it either. I'll get some pictures up soon, hopefully be riding it by next week.- Genesis Croix de Fer

SS conversion kit question (as the wheels I have lying around are not SS).
Is this okay? http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/SKOOSSKK/on_one_singlespeed_converter_kit_with_16t_sprocket
Is that the lockring at the bottom of the picture? It looks a bit thin...
Compared to something like this (but this says it's for narrow 9 speed chains and is only 12t :? )

Any other suggestions?- Genesis Croix de Fer

Dude - get yourself a pair of V-Sprints for less: http://www.v-sprintwheels.com/pages/tra ... ustom.html - you can pick up a set for £89. If you visit LFGSS forums and find the £10 off code.
No affiliation to them other than the fact I have bought a pair of wheels from them.http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Right, wheels have arrived, bought some rim tape, I think I have everything I need to complete this evening.
Quick poll.
I have 1 GP 4 season, and 1 Gatorskin. I am thinking Gatorskin on the back as it has better puncture resistance, 4 Season on the front as it has better grip. Amirite?- Genesis Croix de Fer

Well that is what I went with, despite all the controversy.
All built up, 2 mile test last night and commuted in today. Here's a picture
Good fun riding fixed again! May try to raise the bars a little. The frame is a tad small for me but not to the extent it's a real problem. Really fun bike to ride.- Genesis Croix de Fer

Good to see it built up again!
