    Oi, it was my hand I bust not my finger, you git :D (on top of the other injuries I'd picked up on previous visits) that made me call it a day for a while - self preservation in the face of a major lack of talent :oops:

    well my 32gb card for the Contour cam turned up, if the legs gets sore I'll bring my boots and walk up the trail to get some other shots lol!

    lol thats true. Bought some beefier tubes for this weekend, hopefully will get away with lower pressures!

    Great day!! Good to meet everyone again.

    Will post up a vid from the GoPro (before I threw it down the hill) later - it'll be good for you lot to see how to be the slowest rider on the hill!!

    At least I didn't fall off:

    Welshkev = fall
    Northern Monkey = fall
    Richie63 = fall

    So Squarepants (through only doing 1 run) and me (through going slowly) were the only one's to stay upright all day - who would've thought that would be the case?

    You should all come up to The Peak District for a weekend, we can do an XC ride on Saturday and then do DH at Macclesfield Forest on Sunday. There's no uplift but I like it, natural and pretty steep in places but lots of different lines & jumps etc.

    I would need to swap my HT frame for something more bouncy and with more travel... I've heard the peaks is quite rocky..

    So what did you ride at Cwmcarn, Ben ? I asumed everyone would have been on FS for the downhill?

    Yes mate, all on dh bikes. But we were on the uplift bus, you don't need a full suss to ride the twrch xc trail

    Just confused by Ben's "swap the HT" comment above - inferred from it that that was what he'd been riding sunday, which surprised me, but I obviously got my wires crossed.

    I think he just meant in general, he needs a new one. Especially if we go riding in the peak district :-)

    yes, i have two of the XM-L torch-type lights, but haven't used them offroad yet. Why do you ask?

    Sounds like a scary initiation to the S.Wales fraternity - just promise me I won't end up stripped naked and tied to a tree. ;)

    Seriously, though, I'd love too, as I'm a bit reticent about going out nightriding and some company would be very welcome first time out. Let me know when and where and I'll do my best to make sure I'm free.
