The new build, but what colour?

I've gone and bought myself an Intense Socom! Second hand of course... And like my last build, I'll probably spray it some candy colour. It's currently raw so a spray will be pretty easy. Last years Canyon is going to be sold on as the frame doesn't quite ride how I'd like it to and the medium is slightly on the large side. But what colour for the new build?

It needs to be black. Either anodized or satin finish. There can be no discussion on this.0

Well, i've got white wheels and white forks, might go white frame then gold bars, pedals and seatpost too... so all gold and white?
The Canyon was Mitsubishi Octane Blue which was an awesome colour.
But acid yellow could be immense...0 -
my gf used to have a lupo in this colour and i always thought a bike would look good in it...maybe it's just me though

acid yellow for comparisons sake
Yep, like that lurid green. Would go with my rather violently coloured jersey! That's not a standard VW colour though is it? Has it been resprayed?0 -
FFS, stop trying to ruin it with these vomit inducing colours!

See, the stealth look is alright but it is entierly lacking in any personality. My mother has everything white in the house and she says she has taste. I tell her it's white because when you have no taste in start with, the only thing to work with is white! Black bikes are exactly the same. Boring boring boring.
And I've been thinking about the green... Although I like it, it wouldn't go with the gold parts I'm moving over from the Canyon... They would look like the chunks of carrot amongst the bile...0 -
You know the orange lumps in vomit is bits of stomach lining, not carrots.
Sell your tacky gold tat and get some black finishing kit, which does look better. Frame can be a bright colour, but less is more on components.0 -

You're looking at it wrong. It's not the stealth look I'm taling about. You go for a satin/matte black paint job, then Pick a colour (Green, orange or electric blue would be my personal choices) for all the other bits.0 -
Got to be red, red is faster... everybody knows that0

I actually just walked past a satin black transit with matt go-faster stripes and company name and logo... It did look seriously good! I could go Satin frame and matt branding... white forks and wheels, lurid green bars...0 -

I'm doing a frame in the near future.
Going to go for matt black, but will spray certain areas first with my contrast colour (top tube and downtube). These areas will then be masked with makers decals (Spesh), then the bike will be done in the matt black. Peel away the decals and go over in satin laquer, maybe with a litle sparkle in it.
Sorted.
Then accent bike with same contrast colour - grips, pedals, wheels, seatpost clamp, wires/lines, jockey wheels.
Thinking of red and/or blue, to match Fox knobs & dials.....

Sounds good to me0

I used an airbrush to do the smoke effect in silver then a transparent green over the top and keep doing layers to get a bit of depth in it0

Personally I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about it but having been there and got the t-shirt etc I would recommend satin black
An all-black bike with black components not only looks ace it is easy to change components without it looking like a clown's bike. I would avoid any temptation to colour-match various bits and bobs it just looks like you are trying too hard or really have no idea at all.
