Phinney on pills etc

That and Juve's doctor was convicted of doping players "without their knowledge" and given a suspended sentence."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Oh, I think plenty of other sports are doping (and probably worse) but cycling has the bad rep. Within the context of Phinney's comments I thought it interesting that the England team were using the pills as an excuse. From my armchair you don't often get that. And I was hoping (or more likely wishfully thinking) that someone would draw the links and ask some questions...0

I take cod liver oil every day and occasionally I take a cocktail of Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. I'm still sh1t.
On a more serious note, Phinney's stance is good, but lots of people have said they don't dope so we shouldn't get too excited and we certainly shouldn'tt start judging riders "cleanliness" based on their own statements, otherwise we'd all be Armstrong believers."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -

Be careful. Will look for the reference but there was some recent stuff on increased risk of stomach bleeds caused by mixing pain killers (paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin) with exercise and recovery.0 -
Don't mix 'em, and I always eat a bit before I hop on the bike anyway.
Iboprufen can make things like 3 lap challenges round RIchmond park bareable. Ever since I broke my pelvis I get chronic lowerback pain and hip pain when I do big heavy efforts out of the saddle and spend a fair bit of time driving hard on the drops.
Doctor said I should so figured why not.
I can go without, it only hurts my performance in the sense that I'm not Tyler Hamilton and can carry on regardless of the amount of pain there is.0 -

Just here to add:
My Friday evening commute home is always a killer, I ache to death and it's usually my slowest run of the entire week. Tonight I will be taking a cocktail of painkillers and pro-plus. Will let you know of the results. If i survive.0 -

If you slip a Viagra into the mix, you'll make damn sure that you make it home.
Plus, if there's a LeicesterLass (or another LeicesterLad), they'll be in for a treat too.

It does help in my limited experience.0 -

Genuinely serious here: Second fastest commute home ever. Probably helped a little, but add to that the placebo effect and the way i really went for it and felt like death at the end...oh, and no viagra for LeicesterLass, much to her annoyance.0 -

By the way, your profile tag "I wish I was in St Ives" I assume you mean the Cornish one, not the East Anglian one?0 -
