    10sp X9 was CRAP.

    I now have 10sp Deore which is miles better. Between Deore and SLX the weight difference isn't much and I picked up a full Deore groupset with wheels/brakes/cranks/cassette/chain etc for £240!

    Shimano all the way. My Remedy came with X9 and had nothing but problems. Changed to XT about 3 months ago and the shifting has been faultless. Will never buy a bike with SRAM shifters again.
