How to get faster?

How do I aim to get faster on the flats? I want to increase my speed by 5-6MPH on the flats

    Loads of people are going to come along and give sarcy answers to this, the question is ridiculous

    There are two ways to go faster 1) is push harder on the pedals and 2) get more aerodynamic

    1 requires training and hard work, 2 requires buying lots of expensive stuff

    from what speed to what speed?

    from 20-26mph is a HUGE jump...

    from 15-20mph wouldn't be so bad.

    Not necessarily. The majority of drag is caused by the rider's body. A simple change of position can have a huge effect on aerodynamics.
