Looking back at Roubaix, as I like to do.
After Boonen dropped Terpstra, it took sky 6km just to get Terpstra back!
So your rider is Boonen, I'm guessing, but what is your race and moment of the year? Have you said or not?0 -
Ja, as a chap with a one day bias, let alone a Boonen bias, it would be Boonen.
But Wiggins was pretty special this year, even if he didn't excite me once > so he gets an honourable mention.
Race of the year? I remember getting very excited about that windy stage in Qatar and obviously Roubaix and Flanders were exciting for me as a fan. Giro del Trentino was fun too. Best day was the stage Contador won the Vuelta though. Probably. It's hard to be objective.
Best moment? Hmm. Will have to think a bit.0 -

No it's not, just pick one!0 -
Rider- Wiggins- who won most of what he entered
Race- The Tour- for what it actually signified. Racing wasn’t the best ever but the end result overrides this.
Moment- Cav’s stage win on Stage 18 of the Tour, knowing what was said before hand, lead out from Wiggins/EBH, the distance he made up in the last 500m on Roche & LLS & the look on their faces as he went past to win
Turkey- Rabobank, for failing once again to sort themselves out properly in a GT & get an actually contender in place0 -

That was alos the Spoiler Thread of the Year.
What's he doing?
Stupid move!
Who does he think he is? Cancellara?
He's dropping Terpstra. Thats silly.
Sky will pull this back.
4 v 1. No chance!
Er. Sky aren't pulling this back
He's putting time into them on the cobbles
He's going to stay away
Great Win.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Just like to say that I called it from his first acceleration! [/brag]
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

40 mins from ES of the Trentino action mentioned above. Superb stage. Really lovely climb.

When Boonen shrugs off Lars Boom off his bike with casual impertinance.
Best moment of the year . (Though, Robertini's 150km break comes close)0 -

Had forgotten all about that stage, brilliant."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -

The video of that is done really well. Love Italian commentators.
Not sure about 'Baby Faced Assassin' as his nickname. 'Rambo' (his real nickname) is much better.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Rider: Peter Sagan, what a star!
Race and moment - Olympic Road Race and being there, watching my fave rider win for the last time.....(sigh).
Turkey - TdF was pretty boring, the only redeeming features being Sagan and the Voeckler/Kessiakoff battle for KOM.0 -
Rider: wiggo
Race: the world champ road race. Thrilling and a great great break from Gilbert to win.
Moment: the end of the Tdf time trial where wiggo smashes it!0 -
Rider: Wiggo
Race: Probably the Vuelta
Moment: Probably that Cav stage in the Tour (18?), the look of amazement on LLS and Roche as he comes past.
Turkey: Olympic road race - all that hype, GB towing the bunch for 200km, Cav surviving the 9 ascents of Box Hill and then the failure to get the break back didn't help but then to cap it all a convicted doper wins the two man sprint after his rival 'accidently' looks over the wrong shoulder.0
