  • It's a bit of a non-story really. My wife is German and I wasn't allowed to marry her in church because I'm not the same religion, in fact I was never christened. I was offered a special, all-in-one deal - christening, confirmation and church wedding all on the same day - but that was only because it was a small village and the pastor was a friend of the family. If you don't pay the church tax, you can't have a church wedding, or have your kids christened. And you can't have a church burial.
