I have also been playing D3D; which is an enhanced version of Frontier First Encounters using OpenGL and it is 'kin wicked. I hated the FFE release owing to the bugs, but some clever Russians have hacked the code and put shiny proper 3d models into the engine. Plus there is a community looking to mod ships further on Space Sim Central. An absolute must for those of us who remember Elite.

Used to love HL and have played the start of HL:2.

Also used to play CS1.4 beta or so up to 1.6, then switched to CS;S once I got a better spec PC. Plyaed CS1.6 for nearly a year straight, suprised my gf stuck with me tbh, had a giggle the other day talking about it.

I played Frontier, not Elite though. I didnt realise there was a multiplayer version.

Do you play EVE? It quite possible the biggest game ever .. so much so that as an individual you really cant accomplish much in the game, and you really need to be able to play to for hours every day. It's truly epic.

I never really played HL1, which is why I'm working thru Black Mesa, so I'm not 100% sure what you're referring to .. although I assume it's some sort of Easter Egg from the devs?

Finish HL2, its brilliant .. well apart from the end .. I mean, it just ends ..

I went and played CS:S again and still pwn on it .. w00t! But yeh .. it did get in the way of RL for a while back in the early 2000s!

Yeh I'm just beyond that bit .. almost dodged past it through blind luck and perseverance. I'm guessing that about half way through the game?
