cycleops magnetic turbo trainer install problem

Hi there i have just bought the cycleops magneto turbo trainer. Unfortunately I have followed the very sketchy instructions but cannot get the tyre to connect with the magnetic strip/wheel, it is about 4/5 cm away. I have tightened the yellow handle and it will move in no further, I have inserted the magneto skewer and still I cannot get the rear tyre to connect - I have a regular Triban 3 road bike. Any tips anyone has would be helpful - perhaps there are other areas I can adjust it that I am not aware of or maybe I have a faulty unit - the screw from the yellow handle doesnt turn as much as I thought/think it should. hope theres some help out there. Well I don't know about the magneto trainer specifically but assuming it works in the same way as the cycleops jet fluid pro, the adjustment procedure would be:
- Pull the yellow plastic handle out so it's parallel with the floor
- Rotate it so it's in the vertical position when viewed from behind
- You should now be able to move the whole resistance unit in towards the wheel
- When it's just touching the wheel, rotate the handle back horizontal, then pull it up to lock the resistance unit in place
- Done

Thanks for that I will give it another go tonight. I unscrewed everything and reassembled it tightening the nut etc and I hv managed to get it about 1 cm away now but it is still not touching the wheel ... frustrated.com .
