It really is great to have this live.
  • Looks great in HD with the gorgeous weather.
Finish is an hour earlier than Jill Douglas was saying, though.

Having said that, I'm recording this for later, plus La Vuelta fiesta
and watching the GP Fourmies live, now on the net.

..............Oh and the GP Montreal to fit in, this evening.
A happy, hectic cycling day, indeed.

Massive crowds in the villages. Really impressed. Let's hope it's like this all week.

Great that its live, but what a shame it's perhaps the most boring stage they could have come up with in one of the least scenic parts of the country.
    More problems but still living....

Nice to see Endura putting their stamp on the race.

Front group down to maybe 40 due to a couple crashes.

Agree that the stage is boring, but got to argue about the scenery. It may be flat but the countryside and especially the villages in Norfolk are lovely.

  • I just saw JTL on the front, where's Leicester Lad? out buying a box of kleenex?

Funnily enough I think Cav will say it was the other way round.

Once again (as with Oly RR) Ms Douglas focuses the first question of her immediate post race interview (with Jez Hunt) not on the winner but on the disappointment of Cav not winning.

Well done Luke Rowe, nice crotch thrust as you crossed the line.
  • Good to see Rowe get the win, he's done some hard work in his first pro season.

Not sure what happened in the crash, either a touch of wheels or maybe Cav lost his back wheel on the corner.

Shocking TV coverage though. Crashes aren't unusual you know, plenty of time to show Cav and Farrar stumbling about once the race had finished. We only saw about the last 100m of the last KM.

  • Cav took out Farrar...it's trailer rumble time!

Who was the Sky rider who went down after the crash? Wiggins was ahead of it, so he would have been up in the group that stayed upright.

Chaos and although I'm a huge Cav fan, it looked as if he lost it to me...

Hope everyone is OK and still looking forward to Dumfries

Boy van Poppel second. Pretty fast sprinter, so good finish from Rowe.

    Yeh, the commentary was essentially:

"Oh and um some British rider we don't recognise has just won the race"

    *two second pause*

"Anyway lets talk more about Cav's shoulder"

It was like the olympic road race when the sprint came in for third place. "and it's...a rider from Netherlands...nooo Denmarrk!.....ah someone's come in to win the bronze medal".
  • Just doddery past-it Porter shouting out random names...I mean FFS Jez Hunt has been shown ages before at the back with his work down....

I don't mind them getting names wrong so much, but only showing 200m out of the final 1.2 kilometres was ridiculous.

Porter definitely should have had at least some clue it was Luke Rowe though.
  • Porter doesnt know the difference between Luke Rowe and Saville Row, lets be honest
  • Not the best commentary team. Boulting is back tomorrow but someone with better eyesight is needed than HP. Not a great combo with Hayles. Boardman is a better wingman. Didn't they have Yanto Barker doing some punditry last year? he's pretty good
