I'm looking at buying a Wattbike but pretty new to the cycling world so thought I would ask a couple of questions first.

Is there a best time to buy one new. ie, are there seasonal deals etc to be had ?

Do they come up for sale used very often and if so other than fleabay where is the best place to find them ?

thanks in advance
Kev

They're bloody expensive and for me I'd rather spend the money on a bike and just use a turbo. However, you can hire them on various schemes and for short or long periods, so if you just wanted one over winter to work on power etc, hire is a far cheaper option. Some schemes allow buy back too.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

£70 a month or so to hire ? I'd definitely do that and see if its getting the use to justify it. I reckon at least 75% of turbos aren't used past the first week or two.

I rented one last winter. It was a bloody good machine and helped keep my fitness up while it was raining, as well as helping with technique.

The rental cost was £60 a month, so I'd definitely recommend doing that for a few months to see how you get on. I think they also do a "rent to buy" option where they credit back half of your rental payments if you buy the bike.

I will probably rent another one this winter.
