As I just posted in Pro Race - Rapha hating Sky fanboys forced to wear Rapha to continue being Sky fanboys. It's hilarious.0

Rapha = sexy
Sky = Rapha
therefore Sky == sexy...
damn you, the world is going crazy!!! but my logic is irrefutable!
Sky will be 100% more sexy in 20130 -
I'm not purist enough to understand the point being made in the original post. What I care about is the fact I have just bought three ss jerseys, two ls jerseys, two bibshorts, helmet, gloves and sock. Not to mention a whole load of waterproof and training wear, all for TeamSKY.
I look the part, will still love wearing the clobber of the TDF2012 winner BUT, what a blow. Must've spent over 600quid.0 -
^^^^OUCH!0

Say.....wana buy some cycling gear?
Pro wear, TDF winning strip as well.....£600.00 for the lot.
Meh, it's not that bad. Needed an update to the wardrobe and still got a good few months left yet. I'll get over it. I am really convincing myself that owning the gear that Wiggo won the Tour on is a plus point.0 -
I'm just hoping that Rapha want to start from scratch, flog off their existing stock at crazy knockdown prices so that I can pick up one of their Wind jackets for 30 bucks!! :?0

Good luck with that!0 -
Yip, fat chance! 30 bucks may buy a half a sleeve.0

Just treat it as retro0

Haha. Retro is pretty cool maaaaan. The annoying this is, I love a bit o' TeamSKY so come Jan, I know damned well I'll be all over their new range.
My word, they have me in their clutches.....give me a contract already.0 -

I got this via their email too. No doubt Rapha will become a lot more mainstream in the next few years. I don't see it as an issue though, it's great for Rapha, and it's good for Sky.WarlKicken wrote:I'm not purist enough to understand the point being made in the original post. Hah. What's more funny is that there are probably people actually like this.0 -

I am not joking. I did literally just fork out £600.00+ on a load of Adidas Team SKY gear. I have saved for a few months with the intention of getting fully kitted out for Winter. As I said though, I don't mind too much, it's the clobber Wiggo won the Tour in. Just a bit annoying.
I have a right mind to mail SKY. Ah well, better getting saving for Jan0 -
Did you really buy five Sky jerseys?0
-
I am tight and this is good, when the new Rapha comes out, I will buy the old kit cheap.
I always buy the Newcastle United top when the new one comes out, get it for £10.0 -
Tom Dean wrote:Did you really buy five Sky jerseys?
I bought three short sleeved and two long sleeved. I believe that makes five. Yes. I saved up a loada cash and splurged. Also grabbed two bibtights, 4 pairs of socks, a rain jacket and a pair of trousers. I love it.
I train every day and cannot stand washing all the time L A Z Y0 -

I was tight right up until the splurge happened. Pahaha.0 -
I think the kit you have looks cool, so not a waste of money at all. I doubt the kit you have will go down in price much as long as there is a demand for it.0

It could go up in value being the TDF winning year, the Team GB stuff has been going for crazy money on eBay :shock:

It seems to be the cycling equivalent of wearing last season's football shirt. Does it matter? If you feel comfortable wearing it surely that's the main thing!0 -
£600 on team kit for a team you're not in? That's pretty funny.0

Not really have you ever been to a football match, especially Northern teams, Newcastle Fans spend a fortune on their clothes. You are wearing the kit to say you support the team, not be a part of it.0 -

Its utterly ridiculous, especially 2 long sleeve jerseys.0 -
A Burberry moment for Rapha? ie associating themselves with Sky - a pretty chavvy sort of company when it comes down to it........Faster than a tent.......0
