Its utterly ridiculous, especially 2 long sleeve jerseys.
Why? IN your opinion.
Let's take a smoker, smokes 20 a day, that is £7 a day , roughly £210 a month, that is more ridiculous, not only do you not have anything to show for it at the end(well perhaps some illness), but you also will get ill.
Horses for courses, if I have a spare £600 and want to buy a rare stamp, what is it to anybody else? At least his will get loads of use and looks good.0 -

It's up to you what you spend your money on. However, from what I've read the replica Sky kit isn't that great (poorly made, not that comfy). If I was spending £600 on kit I'd want it to be damn good and damn comfy... so it'd go on Castelli, Assos and Rapha (apologies for the irony) i.e stuff I know that works well on long rides. It's not the same as buying a football strip. How many fans actually exercise in their Liverpool strip? Not many.- 2023 Vielo V+1

I personally know nothing about how it's made, so I respect your opinion there. I was just saying it is his choice.
I run an under 14 team and they all wear their football strip to train in, as do 90% of the teams who train near me or in any park I happen to be in where kids are training : )
I will take your advice though, I currently wear muddy fox tops, £10 from Sportsdirect and they are excellent. The SKY kit looks a bit tight fitting for me, I need room for my belly so will shop around when I am ready for something flash : )0 -

Not really have you ever been to a football match, especially Northern teams, Newcastle Fans spend a fortune on their clothes. You are wearing the kit to say you support the team, not be a part of it.
I've never seen anyone at St James Park, oops, sorry, Sports Direct Arena wearing £600 worth of shirts.BowtomePhil wrote:

I neither smoke, nor spend that much on team merchandise.BowtomePhil wrote:Horses for courses, if I have a spare £600 and want to buy a rare stamp, what is it to anybody else? At least his will get loads of use and looks good.
The stamp would probably increase in value though, the team kit won't.
Have fun riding in it though, that's what counts.0 -
why the anger, the op is clearly taking the p.
a think its fine to wear a pro team jersey or shorts, but not together as i think full pro team kit looks stupid on an amateur. i wear pro team jersey occasionally, but with plain shorts/bib (non pro team). i saw someone in my lunchbreak at canary wharf lastweek in full sky kit, head to toe, all exept he wasnt on a pinarello. he looked a right idiot, especially in that environment. he wasnt a member of team sky as a, he was too (mid 30's, not too old in itself, but tied to the following...) b, he wasnt overwieght, but most definetely was not the physique of a pro or even top class amateur cyclist. he just looked stupid in all that get up, fully matching.
i see nothing wrong with wearing pro jerseys, as dont agree with the whole," your not in the team, you cant wear it" camp, however i do think if you wear full on pro team kit, that you look stupid and are fair game for ridicule as it just looks daft imo and you cant complain if you get ribbed by other cyclists. im not for one minute questioning your right to wear it, or condoning the idiotic minoroty who apparently aggresively challenge those in pro kit, rather if you get laughed at dont whinge!0 -
Could be worse. This year the England football team changed their kit after 8 matches. And have had 45 different jerseys in 43 years !!! I feel sorry for poor families bringing up football mad kids.
I wonder if Team Sky kit will remain at the same price is it's made by Rapha?"The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0 -
