Well you've said it really.. fun ride... not a club run.
I did think it was a sportive though?
Up to you.. if you want others to take a lead just sit up (safely) , no need for any histrionics.
Best to have the attitude if no one wants to work, then sod 'em.
I'd point out bad road hazrds by the way, but thats about it.
You could always try to push it just that little bit harder and have a dig especially if you see an incline coming up see if they is on your wheel after that.....but again ride your own ride at the pace you want.
Thats the difference between sportives and races... in the latter you have no say whatsoever in what pace is being set... nice to have a ride where it is enjoyable... and if it was , as it appears, then 'happy days'.

A lady by the name of Linda and I rode together for a while. We did have one guy (wearing a red top, Cannondale, lidless, not the at it matters, but made him easier to spot) wheel sucking. As Linda and I shared the pace, this chap
continued to sit on. Linda's upping of the pace soon distanced him.

Linda, if you're reading this, I dropped off because my rain jacket fell out of my rear pocket and I stopped to
retrieve it. Plus, as I was tiring, you were getting stronger.
  • Out of curiosity will there be any official event photos this year? If so does anyone know who took them?

  • A realy good event, loved it :D The bacon butty was good too (at the feed station/pub nr Winsford), we set off later and left Knutsford about 9.25am, no problems with riders then.
