Oh, people saying about the climb and so on, but not from watching it?? Ok. Cool. I thought there was somewhere to watch it!

Shows how unimportant pictures are for a TT.

All you need are regular timings at well place points on the climb.

Cool, yeah, Im with you... just wanna see what the climb and course looks like too yknow. Will be interesting to see how technical the down bits look in a bit too.

(Been discussing braking differences on TT wheels at the moment a lot too... one friend for instance who has both a Hed3 and Zipp808 front wheel to choose from and is amazed how bad the Hed's braking is compared to the Zipp for instance, some same comments about discs but of course the rear doesn't affect things as much with braking... dunno why I said all that, I suppose cos braking can become a key part if the descent is tricky, and kit choice will be interesting to see).

Forgot about Richie Porte. Might be a nice one for him. 14 seconds down at first check.

Will be intesting to see how much welly Porte puts into it - conserve energy as per the 1st TT in the Tour to support his leader, or go for it (as per the 2nd TT) to try to secure 1 of the 2 Aussie TT spots for the Worlds...

Martin only 4th on the climb, 23.5 km. behind Porte, Meyer and Castroviejo

Its not that long really so no need to conserve. A lot of this type of TT is in the head as GC riders have more to gain/loose.

If you like Flandes, Roubaix or Eroica, you would like GP Canal de Castilla, www.gpcanaldecastilla.com

Martin 3rd at the finish, beaten by Meyer and Castroviejo. Might not even be top 10 for Tony!

Cards on the table: Contador will beat Froome.

    Martin will beat them both.

    Could still happen, though... :?

This may be good indicator of his recovery/fitness after ilness and how much more use he may be rest of week. He should really be the most use to Froome but as yet he's not been in top form
  • Porte but by just nought.

Fred Kessiakoff new, fastest 1st split.

  • Porte's usually at a disadvantage on a descent in a TT - there's nothing of him build-wise compared to some of the other TT specialists

Are you looking at the official Vuelta ticker? How come you get results 4 minutes ahead of me?

Stage results can be decided by fractions of a second but overall is always about whole seconds.

Sky seem to have got their splits perfect on just about every long TT this year. If Froome is feeling good he's going to kill this.

is it me or does the website sometimes not get refreshed with more up-to-date data for ages (well, say 10-15 mins)

I was used to the TdF TT site which was almost real-time

Guess they're all off having a siesta

And Spartacus is done for the season.

You'd think Wiggins would put the fag out and go for the World's TT...it's there to be won!
