What do I need in my cave?

So. I'm buying a new house and it comes with a detached 2.5m x 5m garage as well as a 3m x 2m brick built shed. Both have power.

The shed is going to hold everything garden related which leaves the garage as my cave. I've got bike hooks for each bike (plus some spares), a metal shelf unit, a fridge and a bike work stand.

What else do I need?

I'm thinking an old work bench, a pin board with tools hanging on it (with their silhouettes drawn on) and a bunch I wall mounted storage bins for screws and nails.

Any thing else?

Battered armchair, kettle & coffee :D
    Oh, and a pipe.
That's what I'd have, if only I had the space

Last time this question was asked, turned out the the OP's wife was preggers.

    Anything to announce?

    Er

I think I may have been the last person to ask this question

There'll be more questions asked when I get home tonight.

It's further away from the scally school and closer to the good one.

Anyway, back to the cave; I fancy one of those tool kits on wheels with loads of little drawers.

Shadow boards are useful as well as looking good.

I would add some kind of heating/ little heater if not already available.

If it were my man cave I would also want a decent weight set & bench with a squat rack but I guess that's up to you.

I'd also make sure you have a wireless connection out there - you-tube tutorials are useful.

Carpet. Not plush carpeting but large cutoffs in the main workspace. It collects dust and can be hoovered instead of swept (stops the spread of dust) it will be more comfortable on your feet and feel warmer.

That's all I can think of for now.

    A stick for stirring paint?

Defo a work bench with a good vice. I'd want a decent hi-fi in there as well. Maybe some cycling posters and memorabilia to hang on the walls.

That's also the contents of the average student digs.

I'd ensure that there was network access - wifi or wired - powerlink or Cat5 (the other type!)

Comme ça? If so, next purchase should be a caterham kit.

I'd need the tools to fill it first.

I'll probably have inner tubes in the first 3 drawers.

As for the number of bike hooks; 6 and I currently have 4 bikes. They buy one get one free so I got some extras just in case.....

It will be blatant and it will be in the fridge.

I think a turbo trainer may be on order as well. I've got an old flat screen TV that doent have a digital receiver so ideal with a cheap DVD player.

If it has a concrete floor, paint it before you fill the place with shyte. Keeps dust down and makes it eaier to find stuff.
Oh, and the tool box linked to earlier is far too small.

Why muck about? You could probably get a lathe and a small milling machine in there.

Paint the floor, have a workshop section and a lounge section.

    Turbo trainer you say? http://www.tacx.com/en/producten/vr-tra ... /index.dot

    Oh, a lathe!

I do have an old welsh dresser that is missing a knob (insert your own jokes about other forum members here) and I did notice that the local wood turner had gone out of business.

Actually I do quite fancy going on a cabinet making course since we've got a few bits of furniture around the place that the Mrs built and they make me feel a bit emasculated.

I miss my man cave. My old man has a Lathe, Mill and a Pillar Drill!!!! Sadly since he had a stroke 6 months ago the likelyhood of him ever using them again is very slim :(

    A humidor.

I keep that in the bottom of the wardrobe. Barely touched it this year.

Although if I move it to the garage I can light cigars with a blow torch.....
