i know it's as flat as a witch's tit and the average aint that high, but I'm happy with it, and a bit knackered too.

not to bad for a fatty (103kg) I've been off the bike for the last 5 or 6 years after a change of jobs and a snapped Achilles tendon having previously been into mountain biking. i never thought I'd enjoy road cycling as much as i am, i bought a nice orbea onix 6 months ago.
anyway, that is all.

Good for you buddy. I also crept over the 50 mile barrier today. 56 miles but my legs were feeling pretty tired for the last 15!0

Nice one. It's easy to get cynical/complacent but that's well worth celebrating.
Been out today with a mate who's just getting into cycling and she has big ambitions - it's keeping me on my toes!Ecrasez l’infame0 -
Well done mate, I sneaked up to 52.5 today as well. Quite a feeling, though the last five miles felt horrendous!0

Nice one - it's a good feeling, isn't it?
Are you aiming for anything specific or just enjoying a ride when you can?0 -

Same here 50 miles today, 968 meters of climbing. No energy drink, just lemon squash and a couple of brunch bars. Legs are a bit sore. Last 10 miles and I was thinking maybe energy drink and bars may be a good idea.Bianchi infinito 2012

Top man yerself. It's a great achievement, it won't belong before a 50 miler will seem like a doddle. Well done.Trek Madone 3.5

Nice one! I too just broke the 50 mark, except on a fixed. Suffice to say I cannot wait until I get a 'proper' bike

Well done OP, did a 60 from Wakefield to Oldham outskirts via Holmfirth and Saddleworth moor and back myself on Sunday, over some of the longest and most brutal hills the country as to offer. Keep up the good work and before you know it you'll be doing the big 100.the deeper the section the deeper the pleasure.0

Big congratulations. I am new here and am aiming for the 50 miler. Did 40 last thursday and then 42 Sunday, I only have to go 4 miles further to get to the 50, should be easy.0

it's that last 5 that's the killer.0

Most I've done in one is 12 so far, which feels pretty shabby.
I intent to do a 25 miler soon, I've planned the route and am just waiting for a minor fracture to heal before spinning off.
Does anyone else struggle to find decent routes? All the good ones locally seem to be around 15 miles, I had to spend a while on MapMyRide to create this http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/117303329.
I can't wait!Hills are like half life - they wait until you're 50% recovered from one before hitting you in the face with the next.

Any excercise is good, 12 miles is good.
I started doing 10's for probably 6 months, now do 25 with ease0 -
Well done!
I know how it feels to breach 50 miles, I did it for the first time two weeks ago http://app.strava.com/rides/22114911 and it felt great.0 -
Did a 50 miler yesterday, 25miles in my right knee went and I had to ride the last 25 miles on one leg painful to say the least0
