Just like pregnancy tests I guess - a negative result could turn out to be positive but it doesn't work the other way round
So if your wife tells you she took 500 pregnancy tests and they all turned out negative you think there's a baby coming?0 -
No - I'd say she had OCD....0

Ha ha you guys make me laugh!
I haven't followed all the ins and outs (new to road cycling), but is it possible that although he's never tested positive, that there are other issues such not being available at the right times for tests or something? There must be some reason they're on his back?0 -

Not as much as you make me laugh!0 -
How far back in cycling history are we going to go with reviews of blood/urine samples?Tail end Charlie

Good article in "The Guardian" today... they were trying to work out now that L.A. has been stripped from his TDF titles, who should get the titles?
The summary is that it was the era of erhh, doping scandals... so it seems to me that even if L.A. cheated, there is no one in contention for the title that could be considered cleaner than L.A. - at least L.A. didn't ever test positive (unlike some of the others!)Simon0 -

Why single out cycling? All forms of sport should be banned IMO as they are all as guilty as each other (obviously apart from 'darts'). If people exercise it should be turned into energy to power cars - not pointless journeys on our busy roads.Simon0 -

Wow - how come a lot of you guys are so sure whether he did or he didn't, this thread is like reading the self opiniated Daily Mail. I'm keeping my opinion to myself until I see some evidence. All I see to date is 500+ negative tests. Of course he could have won the tours clean .... Drafting behind 8 doped up team members for most of the time is gonna give you a big advantage. The USADA should publish their case and name the 'credible' witnesses to put an end to the matter. As for removing his wins back to 1998 ... I just dont get it. Surely you have to prove that he cheated/ doped in each instance.Hills do make I sweat a lot0

Oh, for goodness' sake someone post those links summing up the evidence, I've lost the heart.
Just one for starters - http://www.sportsscientists.com/2012/08/the-armstrong-fallout-thoughts-and.html, scroll down to the heading "Lance passed 500+ tests, he must be innocent".
In short, he didn't pass 500 tests.
A lot of disinformation going around.
I've got to say that for a long time I was unconvinced by the case against Armstrong, chiefly because I found the vindictive obsessiveness of a lot of the LA haters so unpalatable - but over the years I've learned to see past the ridiculous noise and clutter of all the "fanboiz & haterz" on the net, and the evidence, once you actually look at it, is pretty overwhelming. And I never found the blind faith of the LA fans palatable either...
EDIT: I should add that I shouldn't have judged the haters so strongly either - I think in most cases they have just been reacting to some pretty unpleasant behaviour from the man himself.0 -
Ricks response has some links if you want a read / view. Although "whatever the thinker thinks, the prover proves"

Now that would be clever! Although given the current tide of negative feelings about LA it is a tatic which may well have backfired.0 -
I think individuals world wide have their opinion on LA's innocents/guilt and whether there will ever be diffinative proof who knows. I'll say it again, if I were LA and innocent it would be a case of I'll see you in court.Tail end Charlie

I think what is more interesting is who are going to be awarded winning the tours now that L.A. has been stripped of the title:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-400_162-574 ... gets-them/
Will someone who originally finished outside of the top 10 get awarded the title?Simon0 -

No they're not.
This is a factually incorrect post.
That'll be your post then? MattC appears to be merely offering opinion, not fact.0
