I don't know what they have on offer this time but yes I have bought from them before. I bought their workstand a few weeks back and its excellent for the money (£30). Also bought a few of their long sleeve jerseys for going to and from work, fine for the money!

I'm gonna get one of the long sleeve jerseys for the winter!

I've previously bought (for the benefit of people who haven't):

    Workstand - Excellent
Fingerless gloves - Crap; fell apart on the first ride
Shorts - Good, but padding isn't all that great
Cheap compact foot pump - Rubbish; touched pressure dial and it fell off.
Sports glasses (ones in large silver case) - excellent; perfect for cycling.

    Road - Dolan Preffisio
    MTB - On-One Inbred

I have no idea what's going on here.

The winter coat I bought last year was quite good, not very ventilated but definately waterproof. Its too big for me now so hope they have them on again.

Long fingered winter gloves have been pretty good for cold weather riding. They are not waterproof but do keep your hands warm.

Looks like they have quite a selection of kit, so I'll be grabbing a few bits for winter commuting 8)

I bought three of their long sleeve base layers - they are very good for £10 each. I also bought the workstand - also very good for £30.

I saw they good all-round tool kit for £25 which I would consider a good buy for someone want to start out - I already have too many bike specific tools to make it any value for me though.

They're on sale in NI already. The arm and leg warmer pack for £10 is decent. And someone told me they had workstands again.

shorts, shoes and glasses all good quality. Plus their tights (ski/motorbike/running) are good and their compression stuff (again ski/motorbike/running) is also good.
  • +1 for bike stand it does the job no problem

I bought Aldi's arm/leg warmers and they're great. Used them when riding up Stelvio and they were more than fine! Can't imagine Lidl's are much worse

Lidl's arm and leg warmers are made in Germany, Nice brushed finished inside, they're great for about 4-5 times cheaper than normal.

  • -1 for the pump.
Bought one at the last bike 'event', and earlier this week the pumphead broke (the moulding surrounding the pin for the locking lever)
Not too impressed, but you get what you pay for.

    was that the small pump?

mine seemed pretty strong although the holder less so, after a few drops and getting run over by a 4x4 merc mine has finally bitten the dust as the head has came away from the body and stripped the threads in the process.

Will be buying another if they are in stock though but this time carrying it in my pocket.

track pump is only rated for mtb tyres i wouldn't bother with it anyway
  • The compression tops are great. The oldest one I have must have been washed 50+ times and its still fine. Also +1 for the glasses, perfect for general riding/training.

  • last time i got...

Glasses ... with 3 colour lenses = excellent
soft shell = ok but i found that the back flap is short and was riding up (tho i have a huge ass so i dont blame it for trying to run away from it)
mtb shorts (again i`m a large fellow so they were not comfortable for me)
short/long sleeve jersey = very good
  • Anyone know where their size guide is (can't find it on the site) - or failing that - what chest/waist is the XXL and how do you size the arm and leg warmer sets?

Some of the stuff is really good! I have a track pump which has always done the job. Just looked on their website, and I might have a look at some of the clothes. Although not too sure how great the cycle helmet would be....? With rear inbuilt light for a tenner!!! Might do as a spare one I guess!

My dad's got the helmet and it's great.

As for the sizes, just go to the store and open stuff up to try it on? Everyone else seems to!

Is anyone able to comment on the quality of the bib longs? I might chance a pair at £9.99

Yep just bought a pair. I'm normally large, but went for Medium (and large) keeping the mediums. Will be great for winter. Plus gel pad is a quality one. The shell/fleace jackets are fantastic for the money (paid £60 for something similar). The long sleeve jersey's are nice too, with 3 pouches and a zip pocket..

Basically spend £30 for £100s worth of winter cycling gear.

Just picked up 2 jerseys and a softshell. They fit good and quality feels decent too. The only thing I'm finding is that the jerseys are very long in the body (I bought the medium), so I can't zip it all the way up without it wanting to strangle me. When it's this cheap though, that's a minor gripe. £30 well spent :)

Just got some bib longs, jersey, socks, and the overshoes + hat set, and they're all pretty decent. I'm quite tall, and the bibs require a bit of fidgeting to get them on, but they're decent quality. Jersey is nice quality and I like the zipped pocket! Hat is a thin lycra thing, but I can imagine it's like a cycle cap. Overshoes look nice, but my shoes are a size 12 and I just spend literally 5 minutes trying to get the overshoe on. It fitted - just. Overall spend £30 for a ton of nice stuff!!!

im just back too - I got the softshell jacket, two jerseys and the leg/arm warmers - all seems really good - the softshell jacket in particular - the test will be washing-wearing-washing but for the money paid Im pretty chuffed as Im just about sorted gear wise.
The jerseys are pretty long in the body but for 8quid I'll accept that im short
  • Just picked up the following:

Long-sleeve jersey (Med) - Has a more luxurious feel than the short-sleeve I bought previously and I'm glad it's a slimmer fit as it will do for road riding too (the s-sleeve is a little too flappy at speed). And yes, mine is long/ too, completely covering my posterior! Standard 3 pockets on rear with zipped key pocket on top of the middle one. Good sleeve length.

Softshell jacket (Med) - Mainly bought for the price as I wear Altura folding and winter jackets. Probably a compromise between warmth and breathability with a thin fleece lining but a thin (see-through when held to the light) main back panel. So I can't imagine the rear panel is very water-repellant. Hand pockets, chest pocket (which would hold the equivalent of a couple of MTB tubes) and a key pocket (all zipped) on the rear. The linings for the hand pockets double up as internal pockets too. Hood is a good size and drawcord-adjustable (not foldaway though), so handy when off the bike.Good long sleeves with adjustable cuffs Not overly stylish but shouldn't be embarrassing to walk around in, especially in black, though I went for blue for more visibility. I'll probably just use it for shopping trips when neither the winter or foldaway jackets are suitable.

Socks (7-8) - I'm a 8-9 but these looked about right and I was correct. More summer-orientated than the last batch I bought. Comfortable with ribbed "compression" sections across the top. Not much to add except great value at £1.99 a pair. Bought 1 pr white, 1 pr black.

Spoke reflectors - Bought for the commuting/shopping MTB. A bit of extra visibility that doesn't look too uncool unlike the flat reflectors bikes are often supplied with.

For reference, I am 5' 10" (179cm), 36" (92cm) chest and normally wear a small t-shirt for tight fit or medium for casual.

I looked at the track pump as a spare but decided against it as my Blackburn is still going strong and I'd rather replace it with another main brand when the time comes.

Disappointed I didn't see and arm/leg warmers or hat/overshoes. I wasn't sure I needed the latter as I have a couple pairs of overshoes but I wanted to see the skull cap. I have arm warmers but it would be worth buying the set to get cheap leg warmers. I may pop back in case I just missed them in the pile of stuff on display. I imagine they won't sell as fast as the other items. If I'd remembered about them, I'd have asked of course. May even pick up another jersey.
