There's a nice post on the Feel the Water swim blog that's relevant to pretty much every aspect of training and life in general for that matter.

I know it's motherhood and apple pie and all been said before. Indeed Chris Boardman said this was the ideal way to pace a TT recently during his Olympic coverage.
However still worth repeating, many of the questions about training posted here could be answered by following its advice each ride.
