measuring rear axle length?

Well I'm fairly new to this mountain biking lark but due to reliability issues an the fact I like shiney bits I'm in the market for buying some new wheels. I have been looking at hope pro 2 evo hubs on mavic 521 rims. I have come to ordering an it has asked me for the rear axle length (either 135 or 150mm). So I got some vernier caliper on the job an removed the skewer an sent the gauge down the inside to measure it an its showing 146.7mm? I imagine I am measuring the right section. Any help on this subject would be much appriciated.

Not the qr. the distance between the outer edge of the lock nuts

Or the drop out width, but that width will be the same as the above when the qr is done up.

sorted folks came out with 134.77mm which is good as 135mm, cheers for the advice folks much appriciated
