Take out Degenkolb and Swift and that is a very second rate top 10.

Including Degenkolb's win today, the top10 have 1 GT stage win between them.....pretty second rate even with them pair left in!

Only because it was shaped by the TTT. It will be a different story in terms of quality at the end of tomorrows stage.

Good fantasy scoring though with John D and Swifty in my team :)

We are talking about the stage top 10, not the overall (or at least I am).

This might amuse some of you: I've been away, and got back in time to quickly run my eye down the Vuelta start list, then found a Eurosport live video on this computer, found it, settled back to watch.

One of the commentators sounded exactly like CMJ from TMS, the other had a Scottish accent (first flicker of doubt). I picked it up with less than 5km to go, and the commentators were saying.....Boonen's moved up on the outside (I didn't know Boonen was in the Vuelta)......Sagan's left it too late..... (SAGAN's in the Vuelta??)......Greipel won't like that.......(Oh come ON, Greipel's in the Vuelta?????????).......and the French will be celebrating for hours and hours.......... (NO they won't, they have to race again tomorrow!).

Then the commentators said "....We're handing over to the Vuelta now."

DOH! Wrong race. An easy mistake to make.

You're not the only idiot to make that mistake.

I think the Scot would have been Endura's Brian Smith.

    Sprinters from Vattenfall:
    Renshaw/Goss/Boonen/Sagan/Kittel/EBH/Griepel.

NONE of them fancied hauling themselves over circus climbs in massive heat to pick up the 2/3 sprinters stages at the Vuelta?

You're not the only person to make that mistake, would have been kinder, inky.

That raises a question: they go where they'd told, right? Can they say "I fancy a go at the Vuelta even though I've just done the Tour"?

Sorry, should have added a smilie.

I used the term "idiot" as I did exactly the same thing.

Is there a reason why the Vuelta isn't later in the year?

    No-one wants it anywhere else.

    Who is this Sky man?

    320-PIC302447504crop.jpg

and who is this bumping him? (same shot, different angle)

I thought bumping wasn't allowed, or is that head-banging (a la Renshaw a couple of years ago).
  • Sky sprinter is Ben Swift. And its Viviani givng him a good old shoulder barge on the line.

Have his foundation signed Samuel Dumoulin?

Argy Bargy is fine within reason.

Ultimately it's a judgement call, but in the run into a sprint you'll regularly see sprinters barging into one another as they fight for the preferred wheel.

Just don't headbutt/use your head to hold people back, keep your hands on your handlebars, and sprint vaguely in a straight line.

That was my first thought, but figured i'd just insulted Rick in another thread so thought I might be pushing my luck....

Supposedly Kittel gave Degenkolb tips on how to effectively do the above.
