more undulating than hilly today - a mass sprint ? but who is there who can sprint/ Ben Swift must fancy this one , or Degenkolb perhaps?

Commentator also mentioned Kittel and Bos - these riders arent racing. Maybe he was just using them as examples...not clear.

The CN guy on the live ticker reckons that its 41! Certainly very warm.

3 away in the break, 3 mins 30 and 70km to go-looking like a bunch sprint (although the class of sprinter here is decidedly average for a GT)

They rode slow enough for it to go over schedule. Only 12km to go in Vattenfall

Coverage of Vuelta won't begin until Vattenfall is finished. 7 km to go and at the speed they've been going all afternoon it will be another hour

Is there a reason why the Vuelta isn't later in the year?

Most pros start to think about beaches in the Caribbean and ex-pros' daughters towards September/October.

Swift forced to go too early there.

What was that bike doing? For a race part owned by ASO the Vuelta really is amateur in some respects.

Good sprint from Degenkolb. Swifty found himself in front a tad too early. Otherwise I think he had the speed to take it.
