Anyone here joining the Rapha CC (London) ride to Regent's Park this evening?
From the website, it's going to be a weekly run out 1830 from the shop in Soho and back about 2000. I won't be able to get to the shop for 1830, but would like to get involved.

Damnit, this is too short notice. I'll never be able to grow a handlebar moustache in time.0

So it's for people who can afford rapha, who can get to regent's park at 18:30.
Who are these people?0 -
Shalln't be there, though I have the perfect bike for it now. Condor with track wheels and Campag Pista is the bare minimum for a pootle from Soho to Regents Park wtih a rollie and an espresso.0

Okay. Forget I asked.Ben

Well I can't afford Rapha (well I can, but I choose not to), but I thought it might be a nice idea seeing as Regent's Park is where I fit in my midweek miles.Ben

Wouldn't some kind of rapha attire be a prerequisite?
I have a beard, so that be enough. I can also assert that I am using Rapha chamois cream.Ben

Phew! I'm planning to do laps of RP this evening, but I should be done before they get there.
I'm not sure the outer ring is the best place for a large group of cyclists to be riding. It can get a bit crowded when you find yourself in a group of just seven or eight!0 -

last lap so was having a bit of a cool down, bell piece on a scott hybrid with front suspension tried to over take me just as i was pulling out to get round the parked car. i did my usual look over my shoulder to check its clear before moving out and as a i did i noticed he was steaming up and was about 1/3 of the way down my bike giving me little room to manouever as there was a female cyclist who id gained on also about to move around the parked vehicle.
i was about 100 back from the car so i got out the saddle and sprinted through a gap that he hadn't quite managed to fill yet and away from him and her.
At the lights which were red, he stopped got off his bike and walked along the pavement before doing a running jump back on and away. Couldnt even wait 30seconds for the lights to change.BMC TM01 - FCN 0

Keep an eye out for me!
I kind of agree. I am going to do my own laps and watch from afar to see what develops. If it seems okay, then next week I will join in.Ben

A Kona Paddywagon isn't a hipster bike - nor is a Condor Tempo. They're too functional.
This is a hipster bike

Phew. I was worried I was arriving appropriately late to the post-modern cultural dead end I read so much academic guff about when I was a student....0

Being 6ft 2 and blessed with twiglet legs, 69 gear inches is enough for me! Well it was, now I manage to mash a 53t to work..0

I quite like finding myself in a little group as it tends to push me and makes battling into the wind less soul destroying. Although, I must remember not to try and be too big a hero by taking my turn at the front on the incline section as twice now I've found myself dropped at the top. I just think too large a group can be a little dodgy considering it's still a public road.
Maybe they'll have the sense to split into several groups so good luck to them! I suspect there will be some very pretty bikes and some excellent facial hair on that outing.0 -

That uphill drag on the east is where I dish out the hurt!
And I expect you're very correct.Ben
