Knee kick

I have noticed my left knee kicks inwards slightly once every pedal revolution.
I'm pretty sure this is related to cleat adjustment but does anyone know how much and what direction adjustment I need to make?
Thanks!

If it doesn't hurt, I wouldn't worry.0

I have this problem too - in fact my left knee brushes my top tube on occasions. It doesn't hurt at all but I'm worried that it's part of a bigger problem?Current bike: 2014 Kinesis Racelight T2 - built by my good self!0

Longer term this may well lead to IT Band problems/irritation -- knee kicking inwards on stroke is usually due to weakness in the hip abductor on that side and that is very easily remedied with some simple exercises and stretching.

I had a retul bike fit after having leg/hip/back issues in a recent 100 mile TT, highlighted that my right leg kicks out 60mm at the top of the pedal stroke, a couple of cleat shims, and all is well.
Maybe a bike fit?, maybe shims?, not sure I try shims without looking at the rest of your position first though.....0 -
Thanks!
Thought shims could potentially help. Been thinking about having a Retul for a while so might do it.
Had ITB probs in the past too so getting back into the one legged squats could also help!0 -
could be you need shims and/or wedges and/or arch supports and/or strengthen some muscles and/or adjust cleats, saddle position etc. etc.
knees are complicated, you only get one pair, i'd go see a bike fitter - make sure it's one who can identify and correct for any physiological issuesmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Shims can be appropriate but see my comment above re hip abductors -- it is always best to treat the cause and sometimes shims simply address a symptom resulting in the cause becoming more problematic over time.
