    Dan Martin.

Admit it. You're a better one-dayer than you are a GTer.

Not that I ever read the forum over there but noticed this when searching:

    JV1973
Yeah...Not so awesome. We have a good core group of guys, but no true leader... Talansky for stage races, Dan Martin for hill one day races. That's the direction the boat is heading. Those two will be true leaders. Of course, Hesjedal too, but he's already proven it.

Right i am actually giving up... this PTP stuff is just becoming far too obvious and for mavericks like myself there is just no satisfaction to be had

I don't get it today... EVERYONE knows what LLS is gonna do so why is there nobody on his wheel when he jumps? I can't believe that 'nobody' could've gone with him.

Not a bad race only ruined by that awful commentator Robbie Hatch .even my GF was laughing her head off at his corny cheesy attempts at his loaded spanish names....it's a wonder he didnt follow it up by saying ......"Underlayyyyyyy Underlayyyyyyy Aribaaaaaaaaaaa aribaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I dunno how Brian Smith managed to keep a straight face.

Thought it was a disappointment. Conservative riding, little action on the last ascents of Jaizkibel and Arkale, 50 or some sprinting for second places as they couldn't quite figure out that Lulu is a brilliant rider who is an expert in finishes like these.
  • Could this commentator be more Eurosport?

    Good effort with pronunciation too.

His Linkedin page (yes, I looked) says "Fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish". Definitely the consummate Eurosport pro.

Max heart rate of 246! Is that even possible?

    No, that's not possible.

Great ride from LLS, he is such a classy rider.
Why not? What is the highest possible?

Well that quick maximum heart rate calculation is 220 minus your age, so perhaps 220 is the maximum possible. ALso the fitter you are, the lower your heart rate i think, so I believe a max heart rate for a cyclist is probably more like 180 - 190.

I'm glad LLS won because I suppose it makes up for his bad luck at the Olympic TT.

I don't think the 220 minus age thing really holds that much water but the 236 "maximum" will be an error. Looking at Ten Dam's graphs for the ride it doesn't get anywhere near that. It shows it leaping up to 219 on a descent - maybe this was when the 236 was recorded but it doesn't show up on the graph - likely to be caused by his jersey flapping in the wind.
