I have found the Exposure Strada to work very well, the light throw is designed for road not off road use so seems to be a bit more efficient, the remote switch is also a real advantage.

For road riding these are good:
    Philips LED @ BikeDicount.de
    Philips LED @ Rose
I use mine for commuting so I can charge via a USB cable whilst at work which is a rather nice bonus. My commute is rural roads and when it gets dark it's properly dark. The horizontal cut-off is very nice on the road.

Generally the XM-L is nicer with an orange peal reflector. The light is a bit raw on the standard mirror one. Still perfectly usable and brighter than any branded crap at a £100 or less.
Agree with that. The light on mine was very 'spotty'. Too much so, for me anyway, to reall ybe used as a bar light on unlit country lanes.

The Niterider Minewt 700 Dual light is half price at Wiggle at the moment, £150 if you want a 'reliable' brand. But I'm very happy with the Magicshine MJ872 that I use.
