    Bingo! :D Riders that managed to get on the podium without riding (part) of the Vuelta since 2001 (before that they were a bit further apart, and before 1995 the Vuelta was in May).

    So no-one has managed to actually win the worlds without the Vuelta since 2001 (Bettini didn't do the Vuelta when he got 2nd in Lisbon, but did for both his world wins).
    And all 8 non-Vuelta start medals were won when the worlds ended in a bunch sprint, not a single one on a more challenging loop.
