CTL ATL Forecasting for Racing

Hi guys,

Not been on here for a while as this year i've just been doing whatever workouts I felt like on the bike to see how it went, and it didn't go very well to be honest.....

So I have spent a while doing this today and setting up my training plan for 2013 and what's left of 2012.

Ideally I would like to do MSG round 1 and possibly a few others that are local but also the Ipswich Crit series in June/July depending how things go.

After the Crit series finishes next year I basically ramp it up to the max I can do until Winter.

It's based on training every other day on approx 8hrs a week which is realistically all I can do with family and work mixed in, and I know CTL/ATL isn't everything when it comes to training/racing but its just a guide and something to play around with, it would be interesting to see how it actually works out as the months roll by :)

CTL and ATL are only part of the picture. See the TSS thread here for a book that covers the bigger picture.

Also if you can only train 8 hours a week try looking at this book.

It includes specific plans for novice and experienced racers taking account of restricted training time. The nature of its exercises should give a good CTL/ATL build and allow you to understand them in the context of your own constraints.
