Thanks to my Dear Mum (R.I.P.) my Colnago C59 has been lovingly built.
This is the C59 150th Anniversary edition, limited production run, designed, made and sprayed in Italy.
An Italian mate very kindly sourced it in Italy for me and saved me over a £1000 in the process.
The Rest of the spec. is: -
2011/2012 Campagnolo Super Record 11 Speed Groupset.
Campagnolo Bora One Wheels
3T Ergonova LTD Bars and ARX LTD Stem
Fizik CX Carbon Railed Arione Saddle
Campagnolo Record Pro-Fit Pedals
Tyres are Conti Sprinter Gatorskins Tubs.
Elite Italian Coloured Bottle Cages.
Once I have checked it out on a couple of rides, then I will cut the steerer down further.
I've mirrored the measurements from my bike fit with Adrian Timmis, but it might need a few small tweaks.
Hopefully if it doesn't rain tomorrow, then it will get it first outing with the Club tomorrow
Just a very nice way to remember my Mum by which I would never normally be able to afford, hopefully when I'm suffering up those hills, it will feel like she is with me.

Saw one of these in Sigma Sport a few days ago, the paint scheme in the flesh is just awesome, the blue just sparkles.

I love the look and history of the Colnago's and yours is probably one of the best I've seen. Certainly in the C59. Looks gorgeous and I bet it rides like a dream too.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, well christened it was today on my club ride of just over 60 miles.
Yep we got caught in a shower, not a lot you can do about that, but a quick wash brought it back to pristine.
The set-up is virtually bang on, just a small tweak to the shifters, should bring it to perfect.
I thought my Cervelo R3 SL was smooth, and I didn't think much would beat that for ironing out the rough roads, but over the ride it proved very comfortable, I think the biggest thing was the acceleration, it picked up like a scolded cat!
Steering was as expected very sharp and downhills was flying, only took it up to just over 40 as the road pulls up sharply to a roundabout and I didn't want a tumble.
So a big thumbs up to Ernesto and my mum! 8)0 -

No Probs, I'm about 5'10" and have a 31" inside leg, I normally ride a 54cm with a 100cm stem, but have gone for a 110cm stem with this frame in order to get the fit right..0 -

I've ridden in once for 60 miles, it felt great, but the sign of a really good bike is after a years use.
Build quality is just outta this world, but there is more to a frame than that.
So far I'm really pleased, but I had ridden my previous LOOK from London to Paris twice and done about 15,000 miles on it, so I hope this will compare even better0 -
I've had my c59 for a few months now and it gets better and better. I'm settled into the bike, it feels like mine now if you know what I mean. Feels just right and familiar.
Handling is really good. It's super stable, does everything well. The back end feels taught and light, the front end rock solid. I had a sl3 Tarmac recently and have been riding sl4 too. The rear ends on all bikes feel similar, all wonderful. The Colnago though excels going downhill and in this respect leaves the spesh bikes in its wake. The front end of the bike just soaks everything up steamrollering over our crappy roads with a lovely planted feel and it corners beautifully. Conversely the Spesh bikes feel too light and skittish on the front for my tastes, so didn't trust them at speed. I trust the c59 100%, it's not flustered by any road surface at any speed and does exactly what I want it to. It requires a bit more input than other bikes but that's good IMO.
With ksyrium/r-sys wheels the ride is nice and smooth, a slight rigidity coming through the seatpost at times I guess as I have a trad frame with maybe only 160mm of 31.6 post showing, and these wheels are def on the harsh side. With c35 wheels and veloflex tubs the ride is perfect. Super smooth and cornering feels unbeleivable. I've done a few double centuries on it and it's more than comfy enough for that.
In short I'm delighted with the bike. My favourite trait is the way it feels when you give it some welly while already travelling at 20+Mph. The bike just sings at these speeds and it's made me push and ride much faster as its so rewarding.
Mine was also from Maestro and Mike was great to deal with. ianeverton, have no reservations about buying from him.
Looking forward to seeing your thoughts about this bike over time velonutter. I think you made a good choice on the paint, it looks awesome. Hope you like riding it as much as I do!0 -

It's quite strange I hadn't ridden it for a while and chose to ride it for our club down hill competition in November, within a few seconds of getting on it I was just reminded what an awesome bike this is, like chalk and cheese from the R5 and CX-1, just truly astounding :-)
I've changed the saddle to a Selle C2 as I have changed all the bikes over to that model, changed to official Colnago white bottle cages, changed the pedals to Look Ti Blades as I love the positive action of the clipping in. I'm changing the front & rear dérailleur and the brakes and shifters to 2012 Super Record and I have got a pair of USB Bullets for when I don't want to bother with tubs, however I will ride the Bora's on this years L2P as it would be a crying shame not to enjoy them on the beautiful French roads.0 -

I know I'm late to the party but, that is a truly stunning bike (and lovely story). Chapeau. I love the C59. I agree with Nap, the colour scheme is the best. I bet it's even better in the flesh (fibre?)0
